A gem found in Portage. Dedicated gluten free fryer with GF buns, burgers and poutine! My son and I (both Celiacs) felt safe eating here. Best for takeout as only a few window seats.

We stopped at this burger place on our drive from Winnipeg to Portage la Prairie, and it was a fantastic find! The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients, and the service was quick and genuinely friendly. It had that welcoming small-town vibe, and everything was made to order without a long wait — perfect for a road trip stop. If you’re passing through, it’s definitely worth pulling over for a bite!

Travelling through Portage la Prairie, I got some supper here as it was closest to where I stayed and rated well. Folks, it deserves it. I had the burger box, a double stacked bacon cheeseburger with fries and a canned beverage. Cost me under $25 with a small tip. The food was excellent, both burger and fries clearly made to order, nicely melted American cheese, bacon not over or under done. I chose fresh onions, but grilled or crispy were options. The burger had fresh veg and a generic hamburger sauce, in the bag was ample other condiments, mustard, relish, ketchup. Portion size was enormous, I had enough food to share with friend and be satisfied, but it was good enough I ate it all.
I was helped by Sofiia, who was friendly and positive and made a little conversation while I waited. I elected to eat there. There are only 6 chairs in the place, and no customer washroom, so I’d recommend taking away rather than eating it there if it’s a busy time or you have a group.
This business also supports the local junior A hockey team, so if you do to, it’s a good match.

We had a good lunch today! My son had cheeseburger and chips, and for myself, fish and chips. The couple who own the place are very friendly. They take your name upon order and remember it, chat with you and even see you to the door! Thank you!

The fries are surprisingly good. I ate most of them, which is why I didn’t have space for my burger. But the burger was good too. I ate the rest later, and it was still good.
One of the better burger places I’ve been to in Manitoba.
The owner/staff also chatted us up while we had our meal. They were very welcoming. I would definitely come back here when I’m in the area.

Just passing through town and had the most delicious chicken tendies I’ve had in quite a while. Honey dill sauce was on point. French fries were salted just right. Delicious. I’ll be back again I’m sure.

Amazing food, service, & owners. The bacon cheeseburger was massive and so good. The fries were salted perfectly, and the jalapeño poppers were some of the best I have ever tasted. If you are in Portage La Prairie and area, you need to re-imagine your burger routine. Start thinking inside the Boxx! Burger Boxx!

I ordered the boxx cut with boxx dip which is described as “an extra large portion of crispy waffle fries” I received what I would consider a single serving of waffle fries and should not be advertised as “extra large” or cost $10. The dip I’m pretty sure is mayo and onion soup mix but it was actually pretty good with the fries.
The burger was pretty good even though I ordered crispy onions not fresh and it was a decent size, a little pricey but what isn’t these days.
They also forgot our drinks in our delivery order.
I want to see restaurants succeed in my town but I don’t think as a consumer it is too much to ask for a little effort.
Overall not super impressed but will probably try there again.
