Confession… I did not go to the life seminar where we learned how ghost kitchens work. But I didn’t even know I was headed to a ghost kitchen so I don’t know if that would’ve helped anyway. All that to say… Burgatti’s is the ghost kitchen inside Tripoli’s. Which I learned late enough to look like a fool. Burgatti’s patrons can order from a counter at the back of the restaurant off of a monochrome copier paper menu printed on someone’s $29 inkjet printer. I’m surprised you don’t just yell your order at the back door in the alley. There are two two-top tables outside where Burgatti’s patrons can dine. Are these tables also available to Tripoli’s customers who would prefer outdoor seating? ♂️ Are Burgatti’s patrons allowed to park in the “Tripoli’s parking only” spots? ♂️ So many unanswered questions but let’s talk about the burger. It’s nothing special. I got the “OG Burger.” (How many OG Burgers are there in this town?) The patty does have flavor but the sauce definitely makes this burger. I know this because the bites on the edges had no sauce and therefore lacked flavor which made me think I was eating a plain-and-dry burger like I was four. But those bites in the center were pretty good. So for trying to create something simple – American cheese, pickles, onions, and “classic sauce” on a toasted bun – they’ve gotten a good start but it needs some help. I’d give it a B. The sweet potato fries were really good but would’ve been complete with some sauce options. Again, a good start. And I couldn’t tell you about beverages because I wasn’t offered to make one a part of my order. Also, if you’re going to eat outside (which was offered to me) you’ll need to bring your own napkins and be prepared to either take your trash with you or walk down to Dogtopia to throw it away. All in all, this was an inhospitable experience but not a bad meal. Cheers to Burgatti’s for offering a secret burger with potential!
