While driving the area sampling many different pizzerias looking to find the best around, I walk into Buona Pizza and the atmosphere is rather dark with a few arcade games up near the entrance. Tables along the aisle as you walk up to the counter. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni ($7), which were very crispy and greasy. A little too much of both for my taste.

I love this pizza! I used to be a mail carrier and I would go in for pizza at least twice a week. The owners were always so nice and even remembered me years later.

Love the NY style pizza. Being from NY, I strive to find a good slice. This my friends compares with NY!! The smell inside brings you right back to Queens of the 1980’s!

Overall my visit was fine, pizza was great, however service could be improved upon, no utensils, or napkins brought to the table when served our pizza….

An old school pizza joint with booths and video games. the pizza is great. The crust is crisp and foldable, the sauce is tangy and the cheese completes it. always ready fast!

I was in the mood for more pizza, so I came to this pizzeria because it had good reviews. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and went to the counter and ordered a slice with extra cheese. It came to about $4. When I dug in, the pizza was ok. All in all, I had an ok experience!

Let’s start with the positives: it wasn’t busy; it’s centrally located in the heart of Scranton, PA; price point is reasonable; and, was able to turn order around quickly.
Negatives: the vibe was low key unwelcoming; and, the pizza itself was flavourless, unnecessarily greasy and cardboard like.

In mid search for a good Pizza place In Pennsylvania visiting from New York I was told by a local who swore this was the best pizza around. Googled them, saw the raving reviews and noticed they’re a brick oven pizza place. Great, on my way. Ordered 3 pies for me and my guests 2 regular cheese, one pepperoni . I called to order and was astonished when the lady over the phone told me 15 mins they’ll be ready.. 15 mins?!?! I asked really? That’s mighty quick for 3 pies. She replies “ok make it 20 haha” Haha ok no. I’ll be there in 15 mins to watch them come out the the oven. (Obviously didn’t tell her that just saying) , but Am I getting a canceled order??? Got there in exactly 15 minutes they had these bad boys cooling off open boxes..good they weren’t canceled orderes. I told em my name for pick up. An Italian older gentleman cutting em up ready to go, they need to sharpen that pizza cutter or toss it because it didn’t work. Ok , time to try it.. the pizza itself looks great, but I open the pepperoni pie and I’m not kidding it looks like someone threw those pepperoni slices on the pie with aggravation. I had to invite people over to look at it, couldnt make it up. Tried the regular cheese slice first. Pure flop, whatever. Super greasy pizza I’m not used to even in most Pizza spots in NY. cheese was very good though , sauce was better then expected. The dough was undercooked but the crust for some reason was decent. Oddly enough the next slice picked up was inconsistent with the last in ingredients and sliding cheese off the slice etc. I also did not notice a brick oven , Just a regular Pizza oven. Wonder if any locals have noticed that yet, this is my first time in. Either way better then all the other pizzas in P.A which gets it 3 stars especially after that pepperoni pie, Ny style?? Not quite but ok.
