A friend recommended this Ms. Wanda’s when she heard I was briefly in town, and I’m glad I did. If you’re looking for comforting soul food with the ambiance of the blues era with painting on the wall and a unique in-wall fire place. I also appreciate how comfortable the place is as the music isn’t too loud to the point where you can’t hear the person in front of you (if ya know ya know lol). The pasta and virgin pinacolada were great and the waiter constantly checked in on me. I recommend coming here for your next meal with friends and family!

My crew of 3 stopped in for lunch today (first visit). I thought parking would be hard to find, but we got a spot just about in front of the door. We were greeted as we entered and seated immediately.
My friends ordered Fried whiting with green beans and potato salad, and a Chicken finger appetizer with a side of yams and mac & cheese. They enjoyed it. I sampled some of the mac & cheese, it was very good. I ordered the Stuffed Red Snapper with yams & potato salad sides. It was very tasty.
If I had any complaints it would be about the temperature of the food. It could’ve been a little more hot. My friends food was brought out, and mine came out a few minutes later. Not a big deal, but when you’re out eating as a group, you want to eat together (everyone’s food should be brought out at the same time).
Our server and other staff were professional, attentive and personable.

Loved the food! I got the chicken parm with penne pasta, it was delicious. The service was great and the drinks were strong just like I requested. They played good old school music, I was jamming in my seat. Highly recommend.

Wow! What an experience!!! Buon Appetito is a gem, the dinner music had me dancing in my seat along with the taste of every dish. We kept it local for a birthday celebration and were not disappointed.
We started with Sangria for the table, red and white. The Sangria here is my go to and the price is right!
For appetizers we had the meatballs, which we wish we ordered more of, the eggplant rollitini was delicious, the buffalo wings were crispy and sauced to perfection and the catfish strips were the southern goodness I wanted.
Mrs. Wanda, the owner, brought us the Shrimp Scampi Pie and piping hot garlic knots right out of the oven, on the house. I can’t stop thinking about that pie.
For the main course we had the lobster dinner for the table, plentiful and rich in flavor. The garlic cream and garlic and wine sauce were both delicious. The scallops and shrimp were buttery and cooked perfectly and each of us had a lobster tail.
We ended our dinner with one of each dessert, each be better than the next. We had Lemoncello, Almond, Cheescake, Chocolate fudge and Carrot Cake.
And to top it off Shani made us Wanda’s shot and it was so good we couldn’t get enough.
Can’t wait to bring my family back!!!

I had the BBQ Salmon, string beans and mac and cheese. Omg amazing! The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Service is quick, friendly, and attentive. For the quality of food and drinks you get, the prices are more than fair. It’s rare to find a spot where the food is great and affordable. Highly recommend for after-work relaxation or casual get-together.

Janky Resturant that’s supposed to be Italian but new owner is trying to make it soul food. Nope! $26 for old reheated old Mac and cheese where the cheese does not stick to the pasta. Whiting has a refrigerator/freezer taste and mixed veggies are at least two days old saggy! For $26? Not one thing was fresh on my plate! Tried to support but I’m disappointed and starving right now. That’s what supporting got me. Disgusting food I am thoroughly pissed. You should be ashamed of yourself for serving this crap!

This is my second time patronizing Ms. Wandas soulfood restaurant. I decided to give it a try since it’s the only soulfood restaurant in Bayonne. The first time I ordered Turkey chops, mac & cheese and collard greens. The mac & cheese noodles were soggy and the collard greens taste like oil.
This time today on a Saturday evening. I decided to walk there since the weather was nice. When I walked inside the atmosphere was nice , music playing, people sitting at the bar and the football game was on. I ordered fried catfish, macaroni & cheese, collard greens .
Again I’m sorry to say I was dissatisfied the catfish was very salty and the macaroni & cheese was disappointing the noodles were to soft in my opinion . There was no smoke Turkey in the collard greens as advertised. For 26.00 you would expect larger sides. I just waisted money I threw the food out. I truly try to support black owned business.

The best Italian food I’ve eaten in Bayonne! Fresh & very flavorful pasta dishes. I ate baked ziti, pasta broccoli, and garlic bread. Cannoli for dessert. This was my first visit, so I ordered takeout via Google. Caution: Allow extra time before picking up your order. Definitely worth the wait! I look forward to dining in on occasion too.
