Social Profile:

Bunny’s Tavern has been a fixture in downtown Urbana since it was established in 1936. It’s known as a place for locals and visitors to gather and watch their favorite team. Our clientele and staff is what makes Bunny’s a special place, the food and drinks aren’t bad either. Just ask anyone who’s been to Bunny’s about our daily food specials and our breakfast which is served seven days a week. Bunny’s has seen a lot of changes over the last 85 years but none bigger than the expansion that was just completed in November 2020. This is a great place to hold your next party! Last but not least don’t forget our motto, “Thru these doors pass some of the greatest people in the world, also some Cub and Cardinal fans”.

Burgers & cocktails served in an enduring neighborhood watering hole with an outdoor patio.

Stopped in here while in town and had the daily Kobe beef slider burger that was on special for only $5. Got a side of tots to go with it! Cindy (sp?) at the bar seemed to be well known and was attentive and friendly!
Beer was cold and plenty of space on a Wednesday night. I walked over from my hotel, so not sure how much parking is available.

Bunny’s Tavern never disappoints. We often visit before seeing shows at the Station Theatre, and get drinks after. The food and drinks were great as always, and the atmosphere makes it easy to settle in and stay longer than you planned…which we definitely did tonight, hanging out and playing the slots right up until close.

What really stood out, though, was a moment of genuine kindness from the staff. Just before closing, a very elderly gentleman came in wearing his Illini gear, bright-eyed and bushy tailed, clearly thinking it was morning or game time, even though the game had long since ended. He sat down and asked for a cup of coffee, and the bartenders greeted him by name. When they gently told him it was nearly midnight and they didn’t have any coffee brewed. He was completely surprised. “You gotta be kidding me!!” One of the bartenders sat with him, spoke kindly and calmly, and then said she’d walk him home and help reset the clock in his apartment again.

After what was clearly a long shift, seeing that level of patience and compassion was honestly beautiful. Great food, great drinks, and truly good people behind the bar. That kind of grace says everything about a place. I’ll be back, and I’ll be recommending it.

Great local bar. Good bar food. Riggs beer on tap whoch is excellent. Fast friendly service. In Chambana 7-10 times a year and regularly slip in for a few beers, especially after an Illini game.

They don’t give you the food they advertise. I got a polish with just a bun. The loaded tots had nothing and you only get three. The burger was cold and the onion rings where drench In bbq sauce. This place absolutely sucks as far as food

Came in tonight (12/22) to watch the Illini game. They were completely slammed with orders and had a full house with both rooms being completely full; while functioning with only 4 employees. The service was still great! They had clear communication between each other & with customers. Our food was delicious, drink was made well, service was great and we were checked on by the bartender, waitress, & the food runner/buster throughout the visit. Honorable mention to the cook who had more tickets than you could count. Not many can work under that type of pressure and be as kind and communicative as they were. THANK YOU!!

I had one of the best salmon sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. I ordered with the citrus glaze. It was cooked to perfection. Friends had the walleye and was light crispy and tasty. We also tried loaded tots and pretzels bites. They were both good and had a little twist on a traditional version. My only complaint was, we sat outside and a guy was smoking next to us. The original server took part of our drink order and never came back. Our back up server was very good. I can’t wait to be back in the area to try something else here.

Cheap eats. Good drinks. If you go when there’s a band at the Rose Bowl event space two doors down you can hear them play from the patio.

Great tavern with great food. I had the ‘Bunnys Poker’ which was tasty but messy; wife had the citrus glazed Salmon sandwich and loved it. Didn’t have a beer menu and seed to have somewhat limited selection. Overall, a place to stop when your in the area.

I wanted to like Bunny’s but between the slow and unpleasant service and the overpriced frozen food it’s just not the spot. The drinks are just OK, and also overpriced. If you’re looking for a place to watch a game and have some beers it’s fine. If you’re expecting anything more I’d go somewhere else.
