!!UPDATE!!
Me and my mother brought home chicken to-go and as we were eating it, we noticed it was raw in the center. I have added another picture to this edited review.
My mother and I attempted to go to this spot a while ago, but it was so crowded that we decided to try it another day. That day was today, and I truly don’t believe it was worth the hype it was getting. We got the vegetarian fried rice, szechuan chicken, and the assorted house special pan fried buns. It was very underwhelming, everything pretty much tasted the same and this plate was $4 more than the others bun plates. The only one that was really different was the curry bun, which was very vinegary and had a light curry flavor to it. The chicken was just okay to me, it wasn’t spicy at all and gave my lips a slight numbing sensation for a bit but that’s all. The vegetarian fried rice we got was good, a little salty but balanced by the sweet corn. The atmosphere was pretty dull, no music or anything happening. I wouldn’t go here again. If you’re looking for similar food, similar prices, and higher quality, keep going down Tustin to Super Dumpling at The Village.
My daughter and I went here with high hopes and left feeling very underwhelmed and quite disappointed. We ordered the mixed pan fried buns to try the different flavors. The curry flavor came out tasting very sour and extremely vinegary. I couldn’t even taste the curry flavor. The pork bun and shrimp & pork bun both tasted similar and so salty. We also ordered the vegetable fried rice, which was probably the only dish we enjoyed.
As for the chicken that was not cooked through, we didn’t even see it until we got home and attempted to have it for dinner. I think the pieces that I had while we were at the restaurant caused my stomach issues that evening.
Overall, the experience was underwhelming. The raw chicken really ruined it for us. I would not recommend this place…
The kids Pikachu ehh
It’s was warm in there not sure if AC doesn’t work but
You order and pay by QR code scan, and they bring it to your table. They bring water right away.
So after that first encounter we were cautious of the rest of the dumplings we ordered and they were cooked and quite delicious! gf really liked the pork and corn dumplings and the fried bun style dumplings were on par with another place we’ve been to so that’s good. The wait staff did give us a complimentary rain drop cake which was nice of them. But please if you read this, timer method is better than float method when it comes to cooking from frozen wontons!
