Really impressed with this place! Every dish we ordered was full of flavor and felt truly authentic. The menu has a lot of variety, so there’s something for everyone. The location is great too — this area was really missing a good Chinese restaurant like this. Highly recommend!

very authentic flavors, super friendly service and very welcoming! buns were handmade and the dough was very fresh and yeasty, kind of like sourdough. felt like being back at grandma’s. chinese donut was nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. was worth driving nearly an hour to eat.

Bun Bun Chinese Food is a hidden gem that truly delivers on flavor and consistency. The food is always fresh, well-seasoned, and served hot, with generous portions that make it a great value. Their classic dishes are done right, rich sauces, tender meats, and perfectly cooked rice and noodles that keep you coming back.

What really stands out is how reliable they are. Orders are accurate, service is fast and friendly, and the quality stays the same every time. It’s clear why so many customers leave positive reviews. Bun Bun is the kind of neighborhood Chinese spot you can count on when you want comforting, delicious food without the hassle.

I had a jianbing guozi at 天惠居 today. It was crispy, fresh, and very tasty. The flavor reminded me of street food from home. The staff were friendly and the place felt cozy. I would come back again!

Amazing place if you want to explore authentic Chinese northern style cuisine! Especially if you are looking for an adventurous brunch place to switch out the taste palette from American pancakes and omelette. I highly recommend the bao and the Tianjin style pancake. The pancake is probably the only authentic Tianjin style pancake I can find here in the bay. The savory tofu pudding is also a must-try. So soft and tender.

I’m from Beijing, and this is very close to the taste of my hometown, I’ll say even better than some of the restaurants from home. It’s a busy little family restaurant with clean display of food. The owner and folks were all so welcoming and genuine, giving me a feel of home.

This past weekend we have decided to try out Tianjin food and decided this will be the spot. While the inside is not the best decorations that you’ve seen, the food here has things you definitely want to try.

We ordered:
Pork Baby Dill Dumplings – 5 out of 5
This is a very rare blend of fillings here in the Bay Area. I don’t believe I have ever eaten them in any Chinese restaurants here.

Tianjin Style Savory Crepe W/ Assorted Fillings – 4 out of 5
They were good but it was a bit underwhelming due to the amount of fillings there were inside the crepe. They can definitely fill this crepe with more fillings. Nonetheless, still a great choice in taste.

Fresh Lamb Onion Pot Stickers – 5 out of 5
Ever had lamb pot stickers? I haven’t and these tasted great. It’s probably not for everyone due to its unique taste in combination of lamb inside the pot stickers but I liked it quite a bit.

Cashew Shrimp – 5 out of 5
They nailed it, this tasted exactly what you think it would. We couldn’t stop eating it even when we got full. This dish surprised us on how well they made it, I would definitely come back just for this dish alone.

Sauteed Shredded Pork W/ Cucumber Egg and Ear Mushroom – 5 out of 5
The famed Moo shu pork. They have all the right ingredients here, extremely tasty and with the magic of egg in them just accentuates the taste of heaven. This is a solid choice for any moo shu lover!

So, would I come back? YES. Once you overlook the decor or the lack of and stick to the purpose of just getting good food, you’ll get exactly that. Don’t let the lack of decorations fool you, try it and you’ll be surprised!

I’ve been in the U.S. for over 15 years, and I’ve never come across a restaurant as authentic in northern Chinese cuisine as Bun Bun Chinese Food 天惠居. I’m from Tianjin, and this is the first place I’ve found here that serves real Tianjin crepes — I was honestly shocked! The flavors brought me right back home. I only wish it were closer to where I live, or I’d be here all the time. Highly recommend for anyone craving true northern Chinese comfort food.
