This restaurant for Good Traditional Down South Soulfood is spot on. The food is delicious and the owners are hospitable and friendly. Great atmosphere to eat with family or alone. Plenty of CIVIL RIGHTS memorabilia made me feel good.

This meal rates in the top ten I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten some wonderful food. I’d damn near make the drive from Hot Springs just to eat more of those greens that as my friend Andrea said, “were touched by God.” The turkey necks fell off the bone in the most delicious gravy. This stop was the highlight of our trip.

All of the staff were welcoming and helpful. Everything we had to eat here was delicious. We had ham hocks, beef tips, spicy collards, fried okra, potato salad, cornbread, yams, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. ALL were so good. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Delicious soul food! They got ham hocks, ox tails, pig feet, and necks! All the food was amazing, the ham hocks was fall off the bone. I thought a ham hocks would be rubbery. Parking lot is a bit small but I see locals eat here including government people. Must be good. One lady does it all!

Wow! What an absolute GEM to find on our trip south from the Midwest! Everyone working was so friendly! The owners checked in with customers and the food was amazing! Hot and delicious! No better place to get our son’s first taste of real South soul food! The owner even took the time to take a picture with us!

OMG…The best place for Real Soul Food. No can greens, real sweet potatoes. When I say this is the best place I have been since my grandmothers kitchen. I don’t know why their not on every corner but I’m glad to know I have found them.
I pray God continue to bless the hands that prepare their food and the hands that serve it. If your looking for good Soul Food stop here and you will not regret it.

I recently tried the peach cobbler from this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. This was my first time ordering from here, and based on the taste and appearance of the food, it will also be my last. The cobbler lacked flavor and looked unappetizing. My coworkers also ordered different items and shared similar dissatisfaction. Overall, I cannot recommend this place based on our experience.

I brought a friend with me just before closing and paid a pretty hefty price. It was his first time my second. Drive from Terry to get there. Only to get the food and his was cold. It was the Sabbath so he didn’t go back i was so disappointed. I had bragged on this place for three days. After hearing his disappointment for three hours it was a done deal. The fried green tomatoes were fresh. Everything else was room temperature. He couldn’t understand why because we waited over 30 minutes foe the food and watch others leave with plates of food that worked there. I will simply say try not to have a big order as they are closing.. I believe that was the problem.

Bully’s was once a staple in Jackson and even the state. I was a youngin when I first visited over 40 years ago when it was truly operated by the Bully Family. They offered short cook orders and hot meals that you couldn’t find locally. Presently the family is still courteous and polite however the quality has gone done. The Family lives affluently but the restaurant looks as if should be off downtown South Dr. and you see what happened to Sweetie Pies gone!! I ordered corn and it was dark brown and my entree was hours old. The restaurant could really use some professional cleaning and arranging. I looked up October 2025 MSDOH Inspection and they failed for cleanliness. Not surprising. You would’ve thought that they would have expanded after years operating or even a Vendor truck Operation popular in Jackson now or even a spot at the MS Fair. I understand the unfortunate deadly case years back but the Family is well respected and should give back to the community it serves. Sometimes all it takes is a small difference or a new addition of some sort. I hope for a better day to come. This place has huge potential just like the world class “Sweet Georgia Brown”in Dallas TX. But no comparison now, not even close for a Black owned family business. Good Luck family
