You’ll love it! We had our friends birthday party there. The staff worked with us and gave us a small room. They let us come in early to decorate. The checks were individually divided by each guest request. The prime rib dip sandwich melted in our mouths and the wedge salad was excellent. All 10 of us enjoyed our food. Our waiter Jacob was super efficient.

Finally had a positive experience with arrival experience. For years team at podium have been less than welcoming. Melissa is a breath of fresh air. Eye contact, smile, welcome and enjoy your experience…well done! Servers and bussers also really good again too. Hope for those of us that have been going to Bully’s since before these employees were born. Keep it up management team good hires. Good training.

Took my friends & family for Valentine’s Day dinner & was pleasantly surprised for being known as a “sports bar” that the menu selection & food was outstanding. We did secure reservations online which made it easy, and would recommend it for parties more than 4, but it was Valentine’s Day. Otherwise everything was delicious, service was spot on. Apparently has a long history & went through changes, but wouldn’t know it & plan to go back again!

We have frequented Bully’s for lunch for years. These past two years it has become more than expensive. Yesterday we spent $73 for fish and chips at $25ea, and a bottle of low end brut $18. Yes, the cost have gone up but what did we miss? $18 for a $3-5 bottle is ok but it was placed and never poured! We had to open and serve ourselves. The portions were small enough that we both ate our entire meal and had no take home for the first time ever! And the past few visits there is no circle of floor management. No one stopping by the tables other than our server. This is a huge atmosphere change for an upscale restaurant at 11:30 on a Tuesday.

The food and the initial service was unfortunately disappointing. We waited over 15 minutes to be greeted once seated. The server that eventually took our table was was nice. The hamburger we ordered was bland. The chicken noodle soup had elbow pasta which is traditionally used in minestrone soup not chicken noodle. The chicken noodle also had several spicy whole pepper corns that should have been crushed not whole. The only part of our meal we enjoyed was our French fries. The items we ordered were at least reasonably priced. The restaurant was a bit loud, but the bar area is adequate for watching sports. Perhaps this place is only best suited for happy hour or the kitchen was having a bad night.

Our family is full of traditions, we go to Bully’s for our birthdays. This birthday was no different, so we went to Bully’s When it comes to ordering the birthday dessert we needed something gluten free or for the most part. (We would have even paid for it.) We were offered cheese cake, so we went with the cheese cake. But, the birthday treat came out as a piece of “cake” and we were not offered anything else. End of another era for us. We will need to do something else for family and find a new family tradition. Money is tight these days and we must be more selective about where we spend our money, it’s about the service as well. Super disappointed.

A Disappointing Lunch at Bully’s East

Our recent lunch experience at Bully’s East left much to be desired, particularly concerning the food quality and presentation, both of which were poor.

The most egregious offender was the prime rib melt, which was, without a doubt, the worst I’ve ever had. It arrived on plain white bread – unseasoned, untoasted, and utterly uninspired. The “prime rib” itself resembled thin-sliced lunch meat, completely lacking the texture and flavor common in a prime rib sandwich. To add to the disappointment, the “caramelized onions” were clearly not caramelized at all, tasting flat and without flavor. Finally, the horseradish sauce, which tasted overwhelmingly of mayonnaise, was served in a minuscule portion, barely enough for a bite or two. And there was no au jus for dipping. My side salad, however, was tasty, fresh and ample.

The service was average and the decor is dark and confining. Combined with this poor food quality experience, I cannot recommend Bully’s East.

We had an exceptional experience dining at this restaurant as a group of nine. The prime rib was truly outstanding and ranks among the top five I’ve ever had. The service was both quick and attentive, even during a busy evening. The desserts were incredible. Highly recommend!

These old classic Americana steak houses are getting harder and harder to find…soup or salad included, pick a protein, soft leather booths, romantic lighting, and professional attentive friendly waitstaff. Came for a wake, nicely setup and the staff was great. Cocktails, wine, and beer flowed at a brisk and accurate pace.

The appetizers here are phenomenal! The filet meatballs are perhaps the most delicious meatballs in all of San Diego, the rich, thick, gravy was so lovingly coating the meats. Prime Rib Bits are so tender, juicy, and covered in an incredible dry rub that added perfect robust flavor. Fried Artichoke Hearts are great to eat your veggies in an unhealthy but very delicious way…and you might be need that extra fiber to help with your meat loaded bowel movements later.

Wedge Salad was fresh and perfectly sized, with nice portions of crispy bacon and bleu cheese, and generous on the sweet cherry tomatoes.

8oz lobster tail was epic! I can’t remember the last time I had such an humongous lobster tail. Cooked perfectly with its famous tender texture and sweet, delicate flavor. The clarified butter made it all the more wondeful. $53 regularly

8oz Filet Mignon…Extremely tender, moist and succulent, lovely! $47

efinitely coming back when I want the American Steakhouse experience, without the snobby pretentiousness.

I had such a great experience at Bully’s East! The food was delicious—everything was cooked perfectly and came out fresh and flavorful. What really made the night stand out was our waitress, Yuma. She was attentive, kind, and had such a great energy that made the whole evening feel special. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and genuinely caring, and Yuma delivered just that. I’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the great food, but for the top-notch service. Highly recommend!
