My husband and I are moving things into our storage unit today nearby and he recommended us to go to this BBQ place for lunch. It definitely felt like a hole in the wall it wouldn’t be something that necessarily catches your attention when driving by. Inside is a very cute old school style Saloon. We both ordered the pull pork sandwich, a side of fries, onion rings, and my husband also ordered beef rib on the bone. These bones were huge and the meat just fell off! Everything tasted amazing! I really like that they do not add barbecue sauce on two the sandwiches instead offer it on the side so you can decide the spice level and how much sauce you actually want. Also it’s s also dog friendly! They will even offer a bone for your dog. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Limited street parking but was easy to find on the Sunday afternoon.
Overall, really cute spot and highly recommend if you were craving BBQ in the area!

It was hottest day in San Diego and we arrived early.. 15 minutes early. I, a ginger was baking in the sun but they welcomed us in early. That was just the start of the excellent service.

I did the Duo sandwich… very smart choice of both brisket and pulled pork. What an amazing combination! Paired with Cajun fries and I was in BBQ heaven. The sauces were amazing.

I’m glad we drove over 10 miles to get here, this is the BBQ spot. We’ll be back often. I highly recommend!

This is a quality choice for BBQ within the city limits. The brisket is well smoked and the pulled pork was flavorful. The sauces were excellent and the mac n cheese was tasty. Only qualm was the meats were saturated in juice, atypical for BBQ joints

The woman at the bar was super sweet and attentive while we were ordering and even while eating. She went through the effort of helping pack up our food and she made our first meal of our San Diego trip wonderfully memorable!
The lamb shank, beef brisket sandwich, and pulled pork fries were amazing! Seasoning complimented the meat, and the sauces were equally delicious!

When you think of San Diego, good bbq is the last thing on your mind. Lemme tell you, this bbq joint right here had me thinking I was traveling from Memphis to Texas. This bbq is by far the best I’ve ever had in the west coast. I copped the Lamb Shank and beef Rib; meat was so tender that I could’ve pulled it off the bone with a spoon. Their house bbq sauce comes in three varieties and they all bussin. My fat ass got the Mac and cheese and some onions rings on the side. This place is like the one other restaurants that has an outdoor dog friendly seating area (also have doggie bones if you ask the server). Wifey got a chicken salad which was served with some smoked chicken that was hittin. I’m telling you, I don’t beat around the bush nor do any of that bs; if you want some authentic bbq, get ya ass down to this place and you’ll won’t regret it. Good meat, good treats and good drinks. I couldn’t try the beer since I was driving but every thing draft and all local beer. Get here and hit em up. I even bought all of the bbq sauces.

Got stuck in San Diego for lunch so we decided to look for a good barbecue place. This came up and was dog friendly. Our first impression was it looked like a saloon with an outside patio. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was really good. The mac & cheese was OK, but use some help. There were some crunchy stuff they threw on it and I’m not even sure what it was. The service was great. I like it when they take extra special care of animals. This place is definitely that way and the owner’s mother, likes to help out waitressing, is a sweetheart.

Delicious and delightful! The ribs were tasty, soft meat that fell off the bone with a tangy rub! The Mac and cheese had just the right amount of cheesy-ness! And I can’t forget the hush puppies! Perfect with some ranch!

The staff were super friendly and very helpful! They gave the kiddo a piece of cornbread while we waited and he loved it!

Amazing place, I would recommend it to anyone, go check it out!!!

I came here after reading mostly positive reviews on here and man was I disappointed. I’ve tried a few bbq places in San Diego County and bay far this was the worst. The brisket was dry, the beef rib was dry and had a bad smoked flavor. The corn, I was told was off the cob, looked like canned corn and had a horrible flavor. The best things were the nuggets second best but not great the mac and cheese. The patio was an okay atmosphere, and customer service was whatever not rude but not attentive.
Their sauces are delicious though and the only reason the food was edible. I didn’t bother ordering more food after trying what I did.

Would NOT return. Over hyped.

I really enjoyed almost everything we have ordered here. The pork ribs were smoky and juicy. The beef ribs were tender and fatty. I like that they provided the table with three flavors of BBQ sauce because they were all delicious and my favorite was the spicy BBQ sauce. The diner style french fries were crispy and seasoned well and the ranch was really good! The ambiance was nice and the staff was really friendly. We sat in the outside patio and it’s also dog friendly! Update: I tried the shredded pork fries, and I did not like them, but the corn bread muffins were delicious.
