When I ordered a beer, that’s all got I wanted. The bartend
er sit down 10 feet away and smoked a cigarette. I could not even finish my beer. Has I looked around others who were in the facility also were smoking. Looks like a great place, but I can’t do the smoke. The second visit was better. I sat outside, so the smoke did not bother me. Fried greenbeans are all batter, not very good. Onion rings are good but little to much grease. They make a great hamburger. Service was polite but very slow.

The food is consistently fantastic—the kitchen absolutely rocks. Unfortunately, the front-of-house service has gone downhill with every single visit, and this last one sealed it.
There were three employees working the front: one bartender, Thomas, and two female servers assigned to tables. Our initial waitress started strong, then disappeared for over an hour. No check-ins. No refills. Nothing.
We eventually flagged down the older waitress and asked for drink refills and a glass of water. An entire hour later, the water never came.
Later, all three employees were standing at the bar. The two female servers were on their phones instead of working. We had to get Thomas’s attention just to be acknowledged. He told the older waitress twice that we were calling for her, and she ignored him both times, staying glued to her phone.
Thomas was the only person actually working. He took our to-go orders, brought the long-overdue water, and later returned with our checks. Even then, my bill was wrong—I was overcharged.
When I went to have it corrected, the older waitress intercepted me and tried to argue that sweet potato fries were an upcharge. I had to show her the menu, which clearly states the Philly sandwich is $11.99 and that making it a basket costs $2.50 and includes sweet potato fries. She fixed it, but not without attitude.
I asked Thomas how tips are handled, and he confirmed they’re pooled. That explains everything.
Tip pooling rewards the bare minimum. The people who ignore customers, stay on their phones, and argue over their own menu get paid the same as the one person actually hustling. Meanwhile, the good employees get burned out carrying the load and then have to hand over their hard-earned tips to coworkers who didn’t earn them.
That system doesn’t create teamwork—it creates laziness and resentment. And it shows.
The kitchen deserves better. Thomas deserves better. Until management fixes the front-of-house and rethinks tip pooling, the service will keep getting worse—and customers will keep leaving.

I took my daughter on a daddy daughter date there before going to work in Round Top. I was not familiar with the place, so I called to make a reservation. With it being a dad/daughter date I was wearing a tie and slacks, maybe a small step past casual but not crazy. Church clothes at best.
I have never been laughed at to my face with the manager there to witness and not reprimand anyone for the disrespect. Multiple times from maybe 15 feet away, where myself and my daughter both able to hear, these punks continued to crack jokes at our expense. When ordering the server had some stupid smirk on his face and then walked the whole 15’ to say some insulting remark to get a laugh from the other kids behind the bar or in the kitchen. To the managers credit she at least never openly laughed with them at us but she also didn’t call them out. She would just look at us from the corner of her eye and then keep working or just look back at them but never saying a thing. The atmosphere was great aside from that meaning there was another dad who had his daughter there and we played some pool with them. Another gentleman was there with his wife and we all had a great time hanging out and cracking jokes while watching the games and enjoying our delicious food. When I paid my tab, I generally like to tip more than well and even then when the server got back to behind the bar and noticed how much I tipped him, he still had the gal to make sure and say multiple times so to update each of his buddies that that weird guy actually tipped me really good.
I was too pressed for time and too pissed off to make a fuss right then with the manager, but I hope this review saves anyone from going expecting the staff to be respectful

Went twice over 2 weeks. Once by myself and once with my kids. Second time was pretty packed and service was still good. Got the catfish bites, and food was fresh. I can agree that the smoking should be left outside. Especially with the place being kid friendly.

Nice place, great for large groups. Very nice round bar area. Lots of video games, pool tables and shuffle board. They have a area outside by the water where it’s more quiet.
They do have a jukebox but volume very low. They have several television’s to watch sports games. The only issue was food took a long time, use of the microwave is obvious and waitress did not come back to ask how we are doing till the end. She was friendly and polite and there was a crowd.
Next time maybe try something different and simple. I ordered chicken fried steak with baked potato, the steak was ok and potato still needed more cooking. The fries on other plate were good and sandwich was ok.

Placed order to pick up and it looked and smelled good. Got home and bit into the burger and it was raw. French fries were good and fried mushrooms. But biting into the burger I lost my appetite. Bought 2 burgers, 2 fries and fried mushrooms spent $33 and was disappointed

Food was great, service was good, only had 2 complaints about the place and 1 is more preference.
1. Smoking not a fan of smoking establishments, when first got there not an issue, but eventually a couple guys came in and started smoking so the smell was there for me the rest of the day.
2. This complaint was something new I have never seen before and that was an automatic tip of 20% for a large party. We had (5) five people, I’ve seen this for 6 and 8 but never 5 and on person w my group paid cash and never saw thats why the bill was higher than expected.

The beer is cheap and the food is good.

Fun place with good selection of tap beers. CFS was disappointing but service was excellent, music was good, crowd was having fun, and pool tables were true. Next time I’ll try the cheeseburger. Worth a stop.
