I LOVE this unknown gem! Everything I’ve tried on the menu has been wonderful. Don’t let the steak prices scare you! Their meat cuts are high end and you will love the taste. The porterhouse is huge, the burgers are the best I have had and the bang bang shrimp pictured below should have a price hike! Do you like a cocktail with dinner? The drinks are not watered down, and the bar is well stocked. Do yourself a favor. Make the trip!

We have been fortunate to be able to come to Bulldocks a number of times and it never fails. The steaks are always cooked to perfection. If one of the chef’s special vegetables is asparagus, I would highly recommend it. I would also highly recommend the scalloped potato casserole. The servers have always been very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is rustic and a little too hunting lodge for my taste, but that is just me.

I had been wanting to try Bull Docks for a while and I’m glad we finally got there.
We made a reservation for a Thursday night, though it was really not needed. You never know around the lake area so better to err on the side of caution.
We were promptly seated at a booth. The atmosphere was – ok. We did notice a dimmer switch on the wall at our booth so we turned it down a little. The entire dining area could have been dimmed a bit and rechargeable lights placed on the tables to increase ambiance.
We ordered drinks and that was the only slow part of the service but not overly slow.
We started with the mussels. They were recently switched to New Zealand mussels, which are very “meaty,” and came with a price increase – from $15 to $22; nearly 50%. But we were told before we ordered so it was our decision. The buttery garlic broth was delicious and the mussels were done perfectly. Oh, and there were over a dozen!
For dinner, my brother and SIL each ordered rib eyes. They were cooked to their preference and came with two sides. No complaints.
My husband had the catfish (blackened) and I opted for Chesapeake Chicken. Both were excellent.
Our service throughout was very good. Really no complaints about anything.
We look forward to returning.

Had a great meal at Bull Docks on Wednesday. Started with smoked cherry Old Fashioned, and the Texas Tea for our drinks… both were excellent. Calamari appetizer was very good. For main course I had the Block Ready Rib Eye (perfect) and Laura loved her Chicken Chesapeake. Also, server and staff were wonderful!

I took my husband to ~Bull Docks~ today for, Father’s Day. I couldn’t have been more pleased! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere cozy, the restaurant was very clean; even down to the restrooms. It appeared to be a small place from the store front but to my surprise it was far from it. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and respectfully professional. I gave this a 5 star rating, because in my opinion it rates high on all counts. If you are looking for a uptown-meal~ Bull Docks~ will not disappoint.

As always, great staff and food. Shrimp Cocktail is 5 large shrimp, salad is nice, presented well and Rib Eye perfect. One of the best kept secrets on the Lake. Having a culinary and food industry background makes me reasonably critical so if you’ve not tried here, you’re missing out.

Living Gratefully
We loved our first visit to Bull Docks and will be back. We made a reservation so there was no wait on a Saturday night. Our server recommended Rainbow Trout and it did not disappoint! I also tried a Pineapple Upside Down cake martini and WOW that was amazing! Loved the fresh house made dressings, the house made croutons, fresh salad, delicious steak & seafood…. It was all very yummy and we had wonderful service!

Arrived shortly after 7pm. We (party of 2) were seated fairly quickly as it was not busy. Ordered a beer and a mule. Waited 10 minutes just to be told the bartender couldn’t make the mule. Ordered wine instead. Took another 10 minutes to get the wine. Ordered our food. 15 minutes later we were told the kitchen was backed up and it would be a little while for our food. 30+ minutes later the food arrived, which was decent at best. Finished our food, waited 15 more minutes to wave down the server to get the check. Was then told that he needed to get the bartender to take the mule off our check. This took another 15-20 minutes. All the while a cook and what I would assume to be a manager, had the time to come out and cut up with a booth next to us. Finally received the check. Not impressed for the money. It was our first time there, we decided to try it based on reviews. We will not be returning. There are other restaurants very close by that do much better, for less cost. Do not waste your time.

Enjoyed trying Bull Docks tonight. Lovely decor and decent service. Our table loved the lobster tails, crab cakes, crab legs, and scallops. Nice new addition to the lake this off-season!
