The food tasted fantastic and the combos were amazing value but there are some negatives that need to be addressed.
Food: We ordered two combos that left us super full and with leftovers. Our favorite were the tangsuyuk and the soondubu. The pork was super crispy and the dipping sauce was refreshingly tangy. The soondubu had a great heat that was flavorful but passed quickly so you could enjoy sweating too much.
Service: Our waiter was pleasant but with the dining area pretty empty more frequent check-ins would be appreciated.
Atmosphere: The interior was clean but I would describe the decor as nondescript Asian. Our primary complaint was definitely a fruit fly that kept buzzing around us. Some fly traps would solve the issue.

Food taste decent but disappointed with both the tofu soup and BBQ pork. The restaurant was clearly understaffed.
The vegetarian version of tofu soup only had tofu and more tofu. Normally a vegetarian version should have some variety in vegetables (eg bean sprouts or wongbok).
The spicy BBQ pork served on a cold (not hot) plate and the pork was not even warm at all.
Felt sorry for the staff as she was the only person serving everyone and clearing the tables and etc too.
A group of 8 seated for a good 15-20min (without ordering yet) and decided to leave.
We could have better Korean options in Allston instead.

The service was great and the food was delicious. I went in and got some take out. Once the food was brought out I asked if I could eat a little bit at a table. My server allowed me to and brought me some water and side dishes. I got the jjambbong seafood noodles. I was assuming it would have a strong seafood taste but to my surprise it was a very mellow lime’ish taste. The broth was delicious and the noodles were a perfect blend of springy and chewy and held onto the broth great. It is a bit pricey but so are most restaurants. If your ever in the area I absolutely recommend buk kyung

The tangsooyuk was so crispy and warm when brought out. I love love the light sweet and sour that goes with it. Great recommendation from a very lovely waiter!
The two classic noodles we got from a combo. Great portion for a really good price. Jajangmyeon was exactly what I imagined and even better. I ate the whole bowl without feeling bored at any time. Jjamppong’s broth was perfect for a rainy day. Warm, seafood-based broth went really well with the noodles and the toppings.
The restaurant is set in a way than wherever you sit, there is a sense of privacy which I really like. Will definitely come back

My family and I have been coming here for over a DECADE. I can’t recommend this place enough. The kindest staff, cozy atmosphere, fantastic, generous portions. Jajangmyeon and jamppong are my favorites. Please go, support a local business, and enjoy some of the best Korean food in the entire state.

The food is great. One of the best Korean foods I’ve had in Boston with great portions. But the hours shown on Google maps does not reflect their kitchen hours. I’ve had multiple instances I came into the restaurant an hour or an hour and a half before the closing time but the person at the front turned me down because they said “the kitchen is closed.” Please either change your opening hours that reflect when you will be closing or train your employees to receive customers until the closing time that is listed online.

I love that they have a combo option where you can get Jjajangmyun & Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour fried pork), and the Tangsuyuk was on point. Very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Jjambbong was also pretty good and the bowl is really huge. The price is really good compared to the amount of food they give you, and the combo comes at the perfect portion for one person (although it was enough for me to share as well). The Jjajangmyun was good but could use more flavor. Overall, I loved this place and would definitely go again.
Note: you need to ask for a parking permit paper (which the workers will give to you if you ask) to park at the lot behind the restaurant.

We stopped by Bukkyung on Sep 27 after checking out the festival in Union Square and the food was amazing! Even though it was super crowded and the lady server was working by herself, she was so sweet and made sure everyone was taken care of. We got the Korean black bean noodles and the fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce, both were so good. Definitely coming back again.

I was extremely underwhelmed with this restaurant. The mapo tofu tasted like someone put some frozen peas and carrots in a pot with tomato sauce. It was supposed to be extra spicy but was barely mild. The japchae was bland and worse than I can make at home (I’m not Korean or a chef). The shrimp dumplings were tiny and also bland. The only redeeming quality is it arrived via delivery on time and hot.
