I have loved Buffalo State Pizza since they were Papa Keno’s! Slices are huge and one slice can fill up a normal person. Usually I get two for the variety and have leftovers. The toppings are always plentiful and fresh!
They are in a new location now and I love it! The old location had that nostalgic vibe but they outgrew it a long time ago. The new spot feels more modern but has the same great atmosphere and most importantly good quality!

Traveling to Kansas City and on the way home found this little jem of a place. First off make sure you bring a jacket as it is rather chilly inside. There are tons of seating to be had and they do both dine in amd carry out as well as delivery. Now for the good stuff. . . . As you all know I am a bit of a pizza snob as I travel around the US and judge it off of the wonderful and delicious NY style pizza I have grown up on. The sauce was very good, of course a bit heavy on it and I am sure if I ordered a pie I could say light sauce but such mouthwatering flavor. The cheese was good, no pull factor to be had but still added to the flavor. This place has its own style of seasoning and I was not disappointed, the star anise added to the oregano and flavors on the sauce. Such a wonderful place to eat. They do have specials and my wonderful Wife and I were able to get a filling meal for $22.00. Two slices with 2 toppings of our choice a drink and we both went with the breadstick over the house salad(which im sure was good/just not for me). All in all I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area, and definitely worth the drive for a day out from the bustle of city life in Kansas City.
Edit: I am assuming as some do not know how to eat a pizza properly make sure you tell them not to cut your slice. Theyvare rather big, perfectly cooked with a nice crunch, and made for folding.

We visited last night with a group of 14. Plenty of tables available on a Tuesday night. The pizza is great. Bar is well equipped to handle any taste, great beer selection. Owner came over to make sure we had everything we needed. Very personable.

This new location is fantastic. You walk in and the space is surprisingly big and there is an upstairs. You order as you go in and then find a seat. The meatballs were incredible and the pizza delicious! Very cool vibe!!! We will be back!!

Went in on a Tuesday evening for dinner with friends and their kids. Was able to seat ourselves for 6 pretty quickly but had to move tables etc. order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. The garlic bread pizza appetizer is awesome! You can then order a slice (large) for each person and they cut the big slice into mini bite size pieces which I like so you don’t have to wrestle a massive slice. Beers available on tap and a cool vibe. They were getting ready to close down and move spaces when we were there, so hoping the new spot has more tables as I’m sure when it’s busy it’d be hard to seat yourself.

The pizza was cooked too high too fast, crust was VERY done while the toppings were cold. For a chicken pizza I’d have thought there would be more than 8 pieces. The bread sticks are sad and depressing and really need the marinara sauce.
The location was dope though, could not have picked a better building.

The pizza by the slice lunch special is awesome! The side salad that comes with it as an option is probably the best side salad I’ve ever had in my life. Extremely impressive customer service. The pizza is in the top 1% I’ve ever had. I cant wait to go back and play the old school arcade games they have.

Ordered a pizza to be delivered to a nearby brewery (Discourse Brewing). I ordered online, asked for extra cheese and extra pepperoni. In the notes I joked that I was looking for “cheese and pepperoni awesomeness”. THEY DELIVERED! Pizza arrived hot and fresh with lots of clearly high quality ingredients and a near perfect cheese/ sauce ratio and loaded with pepperoni. The crust was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of char and flop. I’m traveling through for business but when I come back, I know who I’m calling for an amazing pizza. The discount for the brewery was nice too.

Recently attended the overland park fall festival and this had been on my radar to try for a very long time, so I decided to order a large to share with a few other people.
The wait time was very long, the resteraunt itself wasn’t packed, but by the time I placed my order and walked from the nearby parking garage I still had to wait about half an hour to get a pizza. I placed my order at around 4:50 the estimate was 5:30, I didn’t get the pizza till around 5:40.
The food itself was awesome. I got a large Stockyard, it was delicious. Great crust , well seasoned and good variety of toppings. The only things I have to gripe about the pizza itself are, the toppings were placed toward the center of the pizza which made the last 2 inches of pizza nothing but cheese and sauce. The slices were huge, which made it very hard to eat out of the box without ripping a few pieces in half. If the pizza was cut into 1/8ths the pieces would easier to eat.
After tax total ended up being 35$ a touch high in my opinion. Cut the price down 5$ and it would be spot on what the pizza is offering you.
After this experience I’m glad to say this is my second favorite pizza place I have eaten that is local, and not part of a national chain.
I will definitely be giving them more business in the future if my wallet will allow me.
