Rustic brick & wood pub draws college students for wings, comfort food & a wide beer selection.

Buffalo Phil’s is probably one of the last true local classic spots left on the strip in Tuscaloosa. It gets packed on game days and you might feel a bit rushed, but that’s just part of the energy that makes it a local institution. Catch it during off hours and you can really enjoy what is a solid bar and being joint.
On my last video I was reminded they have chili served seasonally from October to March so I went with that an no regrets at all. It is rich, hearty, and full of flavor and just a little spicy if you get it loaded. Their breaded chicken tenders are super soft and satisfying especially with their fire sauce. Of course the wings are what they’re known for: crispy, lots of saucing choices but a little small. There is an upcharge if you want all flats or drums. I think the most if you know you know dish is the loaded potato casserole. It’s worth the trip all by itself. If you haven’t tried Phil’s in a while because it’s a tourist trap, yeah I get that but they still are slinging pretty good food big ol glasses of beer and keeping the Strip just a little bit non chain restaurant.

This looked like the place to be during gameday weekend. Had an awesome time watching Alabama beat TN. Was able to slide into the bar area and get a couple drinks. This place was packed but we still got served. Went back on Sunday for some brunch was able to get a seat at the bar.

This used to be a great place, but my last visit was disappointing. I was cut off after only two drinks while completely sober, and my food came out burnt and not as good as it used to be. I’ve been a regular for years, but unless this new drink rule changes, I won’t be back.

Buffalo Phil’s is a great spot with a fun atmosphere and solid food. The fried mushrooms are an absolute must-try crispy, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. Everything was well prepared and enjoyable. It is a little on the pricey side, but the quality and experience make it worth it. Definitely a place I’d recommend, especially if you’re going with friends.

Service is average, not good or bad. The food is well seasoned but poorly executed. The Batter on the fried chicken was uncooked and falling off the chicken, and the chicken itself was dry. The burger patties are always overdone and dry, they might as well use frozen patties if they’re gonna massacre the meat like that. Serving sizes are pretty moderately priced. I will say that for a sandwich and fries being $14.50 after tax, I feel like there were too many fries to comfortably eat in one sitting, and fries dont reheat well, so they ultimately get wasted. I would prefer if they gave me half the fries and included a drink with that as well, but I understand as it being a sports grill, people are more likely to order a hard drink with their meal, that would make including a drink sort of unviable. This is definitely not the place to order to go. At least when you go there and pay all that money, you’re paying to be there and have something to do, but that’s not really worth the extra cost either. The place is dingy which is cool for a dive bar, but not for a place where I plan on ordering real food. 5.5/10

Been here a few times over the years of me moving here. Honestly it all depends when it comes to the food, I guess it depends on who is making it that day. Dinner is usually better than lunch time, service is always great and the atmosphere is welcoming. As a local I try to stay away on game weekends.

Don’t go to Buffalo Phil’s often. But when I do go the service is always good. The food is definitely fresh. Tried their burgers for the first time and it was amazing. Appetizers were the southwestern egg rolls and fried pickles (half off on Monday’s or during happy hour) I couldn’t remember. Lol. Definitely a great place to stop by if passing through.

Great food with plenty of lean, fresh options, a cool and creative drink menu, and friendly, attentive service. The atmosphere is relaxed, inviting, and makes you want to stay awhile. One of those places that gets everything right — food, drinks, service, and vibe. We’ll definitely be back! ️ ✨
