Reviews
Two cuts, an Australian Wagyū and an Uruguayan beef with the right quantity of grease, very succulent and one slightly “stronger” in taste exactly as Francesco – the waiter – described.
The waiter was precise, prepared and affable as the profession requires.
The exterior veranda is nice, but a bit aseptic in a way; Indeed it was our choice to eat there, but it’s the only negative note I’ve made from my night out.
Overall there are not that many places, so I guess that during the summer season a reservation is recommended.
When we arrived at around 10pm, the restaurant was almost full, with many tables laden with hefty portions of beef. This seemed promising, so we decided to give it a try. The menu offered a range of burgers from 12.5€ to 28€ for a 300g burger, which seemed reasonable. However, the steak prices were quite steep, starting at 80€ per kg and going up to 550€ per kg for Kobe A5 Japanese cut, which I opted to skip.
I asked the waiter for a burger recommendation, and he suggested the most expensive one on the menu, the PATANEGRA BURGER. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a poor choice. The bun, meat, and sauce were all disappointing, and I ended up removing the bun and trying to eat just the patty, which was still unenjoyable.
My friend ordered the BUE GALIZIANO steak at 180€ per kg. While he found it decent, it was nothing special, even though he ordered it rare. Personally, I didn’t care for it at all.
Overall, Bufalero did not live up to our expectations. The quality of the food needs significant improvement. I wouldn’t recommend it and have no plans to return.
We ordered a bottle of wine that was very good with a fair price
The service was great, nice and friendly staff
Cons:
We ordered the wagyu burger and they asked how we wanted the meat to be cooked and we choose medium, but it came very well done. The burger was massive but it lacked in taste. Even the bacon in it was a bit salty but no taste of bacon.
We bought drinks but the staff offered some water and they brought us 2 bottles one sparkly and one natural but in the end they charged us for it. This was the 1st restaurant in Italy that charged for service 1.5 euro for person.
Thank you so much!
We arrived around 8,30pm, and the restaurant is pretty much full at that time, but we could get a table very quickly.
The service and the people working there were excellent. They were super friendly and accommodating. They also explain the meat cuts to us before we order.
Worth mentioning, on Tuesday, they also have a discount on specific meat cuts.
We had the A5 Japan Wagyu and a meat cut from Italy. The minimum weight was 1kg for each steak except Wagyu (min 500g).
The Wagyu quality was excellent, but the cut was a bit weird. The thickness of the meat was way slim and nowhere near 1inch (at least). That’s what I would expect for premium cuts like Wagyu. Although it tastes great and cooked very well.
The Italian piece cut was good, but the meat itself was a bit chewy and not very tasty. Of course, this is very subjective, and it is based on your benchmark, but I guess it is acceptable for a night hang out with friends and few nice side dishes can easily make it a nice meal.
I will definitely visit them if I come back Rome again!
To start our meal, we ordered a bruschetta and a meat carpaccio, both of which were delicious and served in generous portions. We also ordered a glass of house red wine, but we were disappointed with it. The red wine had an old corky taste and was served chilled from a previously opened bottle that seemed to have been sitting in their refrigerator for quite some time. However, when we requested a replacement, the staff promptly provided us with a new glass of wine.
For our main course, we decided to try the burgers, and we were pleasantly surprised by their exquisite taste. The meat was of high quality, and the addition of burrata cheese enhanced the overall flavor. I might think this was one of the best burgers I had for a while. The bun is massive and delicious.
The restaurant’s interior, we is mediocre. It seems there was no effort in the area of interior design, and the quality of food does not resonate with the decor. This, of course, affects the restaurant’s ambiance.
Bufalero is a great option if you are looking for a high quality steaks and burgers
