On the way to work I found this restaurant and decided to stop by to eat some chilaquiles with eggs. The truth is, I don’t usually go to eat somewhere without a prior recommendation. but I was not disappointed. The facilities are impeccably clean, the staff is very friendly, and the chilaquiles are an explosion of flavors. I tried a coffee that must be brewed with cinnamon, it tastes delicious. I will definitely be back to try something else from the menu.

The old owners were delightful. These new owners changed everything. Like come on this used to be our favorite spot..

Everything tastes bad. No other way to put it. Really sad they jacked up the flavors of everything. I hope they fix it because the rice was not flavorful, and the guac was not even guac. Was more cilantro diced in there than anything. Overpowering. Not creamy at all? Idk it was gross. Chips were stale too and really hard 🙁

On top of that all the prices went up. And the “large” chips and guac is now what the small was. Everything was just so disappointing and they didn’t even know what a veggie taco was?? LOL

Restaurant sign claims that the taco special is $7 but when you order they charge you $7.50 plus tax. The pricing is not that big of a deal but, I did mention it to them and they refuse to change the total. All the dinners there will run you $10 which is a bit pricier than I’d like to pay but, that’s my opinion. The beans can be seen from where you order the food and just from looking at the pot they have been sitting a bit too long. The tacos, rice, and beans all did taste good and all were hot which is definitely great. The one star is definitely only for the misleading sign on the outside of the restaurant. Otherwise this is a good place to try out the food if you have the craving.

Best Tacos I’ve had in the Chicago area so far. Great prices, humble little spot, really good value. Delicious. And, an awesome salsa bar! Thank you!

Generous portion size, a price that won’t break the bank, and the first place i’ve seen that offers a couple of tortillos also. Glad I stopped by. I got the 3 taco dinner but could have been full with the 2 taco special.

I’ve gotten their birria tacos and guacamole so far… delicious. Love the variety of salsas they offer.

The 3 birria tacos were solid. I do wish the consumé had some chunks of meat in it (was just the soup base) but no complaints otherwise.

Their guac (with jalapeños) has the perfect amount of spice/flavor and chunk/smoothness.

I miss the old owner that man was awesome made the best salsa in the world and best tortas de asada now it makes me cry when I go there he was good friends with my old man and I miss that guy and the menu my biggest regret was that I never tried the torta made of ham I always picked steak torta. I’ve been going there since 2007 when there was a home furniture store next to it in the corner I was only 7 and that’s when I fell in love with thier food but everything changed like in life and I cried because I’m in the US Army and when I came back home for leave the man had passed away they have decent food but nothing to do with the flavors and the secret ingredients he used for his food with passion love and the best seasoning. The new owner seems like they are learning to cook still give it a couple years either that place runs out of business because thier food never improved its decent it’s not bar but it has nothing in comparison with what the other man used to serve. Man it sucks how times change. My dad and I been going there since I was a kid I’m 25 years old now and I just had to leave this review here so people could understand what that place is now compared to how amazing the food was here. Well I just wanna let the new owner to some how get the ingredients of what the previous owner had so they can have more business cuz the food yall serve now it’s alright it’s nothing out of this planet good as it use to be. R.I.P to the previous owner i miss you everyday and I hate that because I serve my country i never got to say good bye or let you know how this child hood place of mine made me happy as a kid and I wish I could have my children experience the amazing food I ate there a long time ago and my father misses you too because you were a good person to him when we had no money and you still gave us food and hooked it up because we were regulars as costumers always going there after making deliveries for that furniture store in that corner, they closed in 2009. Imma miss this place forever at least when it use to be now it’s changed and brings me to tears.

We loved the old owners. Great food and great prices. We came to Illinois all the way from North Dakota to enjoy the food. Today we ordered and found there are new owners. We ordered 2 taco dinners, 3 single tacos, one quesadilla, and 4 drinks. It came to be 70+ dollars and we were shocked by the price. The tacos were cold and the meat was dry. It was supposed to be my 10 year old daughter’s birthday lunch. We are revolted and will never come here again. We do NOT recommend.
