The restaurant has an extensive menu covering a wide variety of foods, from appetizers, soups, salads, beef, chicken, seafood, all presented with a South American flair. With such a variety available, we had a bit of a time trying to narrow it down. we settled on a split baby spinach salad as an appetizer, it was terrific. Super fresh spinach, and ample portions of all the veggies, nuts, and cheese, and a delightfully light dressing.
Our shared entrées included the Canelones Caseros, two spinach-filled crêpes, wrapped and topped with a delicious vegetable sauce, marinara, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. The dish was outstanding! Our other shared entree was the Gnocchi Quartet, which consisted of four different kinds of deliciously prepared gnocchi, blended in a medley of fresh vegetables, and a light cream sauce… also a winner!
The restaurant has a nice list of premium cocktails, and other libations, as well as a decent wine list. The wine list has a nice variety from around the world, but is rather limited, and that is just an observation not a complaint! We selected a very nice Pinot Grigio from the Torresello winery in Italy. It was served at the perfect temperature, iced in a bucket, and went exceedingly well with the meal we had selected.
All in all an excellent meal, start to finish, especially in light of the rather large group we had. Highly recommend Buenos Aires Café for a delightful and delicious dining experience…
Update: I came back here on 5/10/2024. Lots of good food and yummy desserts. Service was excellent.
Positive:
1. Authentic chimichurri
2. Tasty Choripan with true Argentinian sausage
3. Excellent French fries
Negative:
1. Ñoqui was a disappointment. Too soft. Not squidgy as one would expect for Ñoqui
2. Milanesa doesn’t have the right breading and was too thin
3. Empanadas were average for me. They lack boiled eggs, raisins and proper amount of tomatoes. I had better ones
It is a good neighborhood restaurant.
My previous review: Crazy to say but my expectations were high for this place and they did not meet them whatsoever. Brought my parents here since we thought it was going to be a nice flavor of Latin cuisine in a very high end area but I can honestly say we will not be recommending this restaurant or visiting again.
Paid over $100 for 2 milanesas that were over cooked, small, and tasted old, 2 empanadas which were the only good thing we had (hence the only picture I took), 1 pollo al horno (no seasoning at all) and 1 cranberry juice.
The experience became extremely awkward when we reminded our waiter my dad ordered French fries with his milanesa and not mashed potatoes, the waiter after speaking to his manager which I have NEVER in the yrs I have been making reviews have had the experience of a manager tell the waiter to get the mashed potatoes back from the customer’s plate to be able to give us the French fries (that btw it was the waiter or cooks mistake sending the wrong item) they said if we didn’t give them back we will be charged extra for the fries so I asked for a plate and placed the potatoes on the plate and waited for the French fries which at least were tasty.
Anyways all that to say very bad experience overall.
overall a 3.8 for me . thought it was too pricey for the quality that I received but please be your own judge you may have a better experience than me.
