I’ve visited this gem of a restaurant twice. On my first visit, I had the caldo de res, it’s served with large chunks of tender beef and various vegetables….it tastes just like the one your mom or abuelita would make. My friend had the enchiladas and they were so hearty and delicious. On my second visit, I had the carnitas plate….another winner, served with rice, beans and homemade tortillas!! Don’t skip dessert! The capirotada (Mexican bread pudding) and the fried ice cream are great! The owner is very friendly, completely well versed in all he serves, and attention to detail is not spared. Food is fresh and authentic. This is definitely a neighborhood gem.

We loved Buena Comida Mexicana! We had chips & guac, nachos with pollo asada and an al pastor taco and all of them were so fresh. The guac was some of the best I’ve had with just a little kick and came with warm tortilla chips which everyone knows warm chips are superior. The nachos were huge and we particularly enjoyed what I believe was a chipotle crema and it really elevated it. Honestly, we will definitely be back!

This spot is new and has excellent tacos at an excellent price. Tacos are advertised at $3.75 each. Horchata was great too. I’ll have to try the rest of the menu later, it looks like they have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Come out and support this spot because they have great food and are good people, let’s keep them going!

The most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve eaten at. It’s a little hole in the wall so don’t let the smaller spot scare you away. If you’re looking for the highest quality, best tasting Mexican food, this is the spot. Their chips and salsa are to die for.

Sweet mother of pearl, this place is out of this world! We’ve been here a couple times now, and it’s really knocked my socks off. Amazing fresh tasting food with beautiful presentation, and kind staff members. This will be a regular place for us from now on!

Nice Mexican restaurant with vegan choices I ordered a tortilla soup taste more curry than Mexican flavor which is alright, not so authentic but still delicious to enjoy some Mexican food. Place is nice clean and affordable for single and couple eating. Only issue would be
Parking it is a small lot.

Absolutely delicious with generous portions! I came for the Pozole Verde—wow, so flavorful and comforting. My associate ordered the carnitas plate, and the meat was so tender it practically melted apart—pure yumminess! I’m already planning to come back for the Menudo. Highly recommend this spot!

I saw one picture of the breakfast burrito on Google and immediately started walking in the rain lol. No regrets Service was great, he read my mind before I even had the chance to ask for anything.

Parking is very limited, I would suggest parking on 7th or Manhattan.

A breakfast burrito and a coke came out to $19.76 before tip. Definitely worth it!

Love this place. It is a new favorite. Owner is good guy and cares about authenticity.

It’s a hidden gem, would highly recommend, grew up my entire life eating Mexican food, solid Mole.

If you’ve got a crew come in and order multiple dishes and feast like kings.

Will return. I think the owner has a few other spots and have heard good things about them too.

I ordered take-out from this place last night; it was my first time trying this restaurant. The food was delicious! The chef’s techniques displayed in their preparation and execution clearly demonstrated years of experience and a true love of food. The owner recommended the enchiladas with chicken, the seasonings used made this dish top notch. The birria tacos (w/consume’) were excellent; they made their tortillas fresh and added just the right amount of onions, cilantro & cheese to not overpower the meat. The street corn was fantastic; the corn was sweet which made it impossible to stop eating it. The beans were perfect; they were tender & not over-cooked. This was by far the best Mexican meal I’ve had in years in this city. The only downside is the location – it’s in a small strip-mall at 7th & Western, very limited parking. I suggest walking there if you’re in the neighborhood, or parking in the neighborhood & walking over. This is a great stop before or after a show at the Wiltern. I will definitely order from this place again & I highly recommend that you try it. Enjoy!
