Nice Restaurant with great food. Small front parking lot but provides a rear lot too.
Service was fast and friendly. They offered a variety of mexican dishes and breakfast options. The food had good flavor and seasoning. Our table had ordered Breakfast tacos and I had an omelet. Everything was cooked well and delicious. We will definitely be returning to try other dishes.

My husband and I always passed by this restaurant and we always said we would try it out. I’m upset at myself for not making us try it sooner. As soon as we walked through the door we knew we were going to be having a traditional homemade Mexican breakfast. We were greeted immediately and told the specials. My husband ordered the Buen apetito special for 9.99 and it came with 4 barbacoa tacos with fried corn tortillas and a bowl of menudo (with the fixings of course) and I ordered the huevos a la gusto also for 9.99 and it had barbacoa, potatoes, refried beans, corn tortillas. and 2 eggs. Both meals came with so much food and a coffee or drink. They served the food on authentic clay dishes that were so cute. And the best part was the complimentary oatmeal that tasted like arroz con leche 🙂 pics below (I forgot to take a pic of oatmeal cause i ate it so fast)

Every single time I’m in the valley I need to stop here. My soul is restless until I sit down and am greeted by the familiar smiles and warm greetings. This isn’t just a cafe. It’s a home away from home. This is down home border cookin’ as it was always meant to be enjoyed. The staff is attentive and kind. The food is incredible. The specials are a steal. I wish them the best as always, and until I come again I will miss it dearly.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend, I have been looking for a new breakfast place. I was not disappointed! This was an authentic Mexican breakfast, that is so hard to find. The tortillas were on point and my husband who is picky about menu do, had no words, other than a thumbs up! He had the menudo and 4 barbacoa tacos that are a weekend special. The prices were very reasonable. I ordered a breakfast taco. That was 4 hours ago and I am still full. I loved the Mexican serve ware. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

We had just gotten in from our flight to Harlingen, and Buen Apetito caught our eye for lunch. Very cute spot with great, friendly service. We were fortunate to dine on a weekend, so I was able to order the barbacoa taco (one big taco) which is served with chopped onions and cilantro. It’s a classic combo that I love. My wife loves pozole, so she ordered the large bowl which was way too big for her. My son got the pancake combo which was also way too big for him. Everything tasted great though.

We came from south of Houston on our way to Brownsville and decided to stop at buen apetito Harlingen, Tx because it had good reviews. Buen apetito was a small little cozy spot in a small neighborhood and was very homely. It had really good food at very affordable prices. It came out hot and quick. The customer service was excellent. So glad we stopped here the waitress was very sweet and attentive with my grand baby!! I would totally recommend you give this small business a try!!
