We came here for a quick breakfast. We had three orders of two eggs, protein and a bread. I had an over easy, bacon and rye bread. My wife had scrambled, bacon and cinnamon swirl. My daughter had scrambled, croissant and bacon. We also had an order of French toast for my other daughter and her fiancé. Overall the food was good. We had to wait a bit but was expected due to the time of day. The ambiance of the location was great. We would come back again to this location

Bud’s is a great spot for breakfast! Close to all the other major attractions in Interlochen and plenty of space for seating. The decor is really cool too, lots of historical photos. Food was good!

We waited an hour for our food after we ordered. It wasn’t real busy. When the food arrived, it was barely warm. We checked on our order 3 times and were given 10 minute wait times each time we asked. Nobody ever offered any compensation (refund, partial refund, free dessert…). All in all, being close to a state park, they should be better at handling customer orders.

This is a counter service restaurant, with tasty hand dipped ice cream and OK sandwiches. They had 12 people (that I saw) working on a Sunday afternoon, and only 2/3 of the tables full. Yet it took an hour to get our sandwiches.

The food and the employees here were great. As out of town guests camping at Interlochen State Park, we enjoyed stopping in a couple of times for coffee, breakfast and lunch options. The employees are always super helpful, attentive, and very hospitable. We also appreciate the outdoor seating that could accommodate a smaller or larger group.

We come up to Interlochen every year in the summer. We’ve been coming here for a few years now… so we’ve been through this place at different times and I’m sure with different staff- It has been the same level of service every time. You will always be waiting for your food/drinks for at least 15 minutes- we’ve waited an 1.5 for our food. There seems to always be confusion or miscommunication for staff. I get it, I’m sure there is seasonal staff that comes and goes. We’ve had to get refunds and go up to the counter to figure what’s going on just like other reviewers have said- and they’re never too sure on how long you’ll be waiting for your food. For the style of cafe it is and what they serve, it should not be that long of a wait. That being said, the area they are in, most of their business isn’t regulars and people will always be coming and going regardless of the level of service and the reviews. Even for myself, they have great coffee and I love their scones ( when they aren’t out of them) They have a unique selection of things to buy and a good atmosphere to hang out. It’s just not the place to go when you’re on a schedule to be somewhere.

I feel like their system needs work. You order at the counter, they take your name. Then you find a seat. They come out and call your name when your order is ready. We were told it would be 30 minutes for our sandwiches. (Not a problem, it was busy) We waited for an hour for food when we finally went up and asked about it. They stated that they had one of our sandwiches but gave the other one away. The sandwich we did get was cold and soggy. It had been sitting for a while. Needless to say, we probably won’t be going back.

As a local i’ve tried giving this place a chance numerous times and am dissapointed everytime so i’ve decided i will no longer be giving Bud’s my business. Everytime i come here the wait is very long even for simple to go items like coffee, donuts and bagels. Me and my fiance waited 30 minutes for a bagel two weeks ago and had to ask two times after ordering to get it. Everytime i go in there it seems like a decent amount of people are working and yet something gets messed up on my order or your waiting a very long time to get it. Today i attempted to go there to get a donut- simple enough, only to be informed by someone sitting in the parking lot that they were closed on a Sunday. I understand these days its hard for places to get staff but from what i see this place doesnt have a “staffing” problem it is a managmenent/owner problem and the staff need better training. Simple and basic adjustments would produce a very differnt experience.

A nice rustic appearance, working fireplace, and nostalgic feel. The outdoor porch sitting area is very inviting. We visited the afternoon before and enjoyed some of their ice cream on the porch. This rainy morning at camp, we decided to try breakfast at Bud’s.

As a local I try and give to my money to local businesses owners as much as I can. Buds has a great look with lots of potential,However I’ve tried a few times to like my experience there as the food has usually been pretty decent (I usually get the Huevos Ranchero wrap) however today I’m afraid may be the last time I go back for a while if ever. Today my fiancee and I swung in for a quick grab and go (a doughnut,a bagel and two coffee’s) we got ours coffee’s and donut within 5 mins. After standing there for around 10 minutes we asked about the bagel we had ordered and they informed us that it was “coming right up” after another 5-7 minutes the handed us a toasted bagel and we were on our way. It did not appear to be busy in there at the time. The staff appear to lack a sence of urgency and management seems to enable the behavior. A great place to eat if time is no concern.
