Great pizza! The food is pretty consistent. I missed having a Buddy’s around when I lived in South Carolina. The pizza flavor is so unique compared to other shops.
I can never get the website to work. I’ve probably tried 5-10 times. I’ve used my phone and pc, different browsers, on and off WiFi. I always get some ‘basket error’. Either way, they always honor the coupon codes when you call in and they get the orders correct over the phone.

I had been wanting to try out Buddy’s pizza after hearing about it from others. I decided to try it for lunch and had a good experience. I love the authentic Detroit style pizza and the Vernor’s float (it doesn’t get much more Michigan than that)! I went for lunch and was happy that they had several lunch specials. However, it would be nice to offer a pizza with more than 1 topping for the special. The restaurant was impeccably clean and the staff were friendly. If you want to have a true Michigan eating experience, Buddy’s is a good bet!

Our server forgot our drinks, spent most of his time chatting at the bar, barely checked on us, and took forever to bring our food. No updates, no apologies—just inattentive service from start to finish. To top it off, he complained about receiving a $1 tip, when honestly the service didn’t even warrant that.
Restaurants don’t fail because of bad food—Buddy’s food is solid—but because of bad service. Management really needs to address this, because the kitchen is doing its job.

The service here is great. We have been multiple times and each trip the staff has been kind, quick, and accommodating. The food is American Italian. The pizza is a unique spin on Detroit style with caramelized edges and is thick, but not as thick as Jets. The interior is clean and well maintained. The price is I bit more than traditional pizza joints. Their children’s meals are certainly worth the price.

Picking up my order was very quick. Although there wasn’t any warning there was a door hidden in the back specifically for pickup until I already arrived and parked up front, seeing the signs expecting it to be around the corner then ending up at the furthest point of the building.
The food left a lot to be desired. While it had a decent taste, nothing really stood out as a “WOW! This is good!” I would say the pizza is more along the lines of sports bar “They have it, so I’ll order because its convenient” kind of pizza as opposed to something that would really stand out and make ke want to go back again.

Being Detroit natives, my sisters and I grew up eating Buddy’s pizza. So when we heard that a new location would be opening in all of our’s college town, we were stoked. While visiting for the weekend we decided to order Buddy’s through Doordash. One of the two pizzas was supposed to be free of meat and was full of ham and pepperoni. Both my sisters are vegetarian and have been for years. We called and spoke with one of the managers, Chris who handled the situation very well and offered to not only remake the pizza the next day but also to add a free appetizer (they were just about to close). I went back up there today and the nice girl in carryout said there still was a balance after the food. Which was not what Chris and my sister discussed last night. We were told we would get the pizza and appetizer on the house because it was their mistake. Chris was extremely rude, he didn’t even say hello to me after I greeted him. Instead of explaining it to me he completely blew me off and when I told him to “have a good one” he laughed. We are so very disappointed in this establishment as we have never experienced such disrespect at any other Buddy’s we’ve been to.
