We have visited this Buddy’s location a number of times since they opened in Canton. The most recent, (1/17/26) was our best! We ordered catering for our son’s first birthday party. Four signature pizzas, a catering size of Buddy Bread, and a catering size of Antipasto salad. Everything turned out fantastic, and we had rave reviews from those attending the party about how great the meal was. I was particularly impressed with how everything was hot, fresh, and ready by the time of pick-up. The salad, wow – monstrous and was the BEST Buddy’s antipasto salad we’ve ever had. Service was top-notch as well – gave us tons of ranch, marinara, and Buddy’s Dressing to make the meal even better. Thank you for making our son’s first birthday party a true treat!

Update :

Called ahead and placed a pickup order for the Greektown and Detroit’s 8 Square pizzas. The order was ready right on time when we arrived, which made pickup quick and easy.

This location is takeout-only, with no dine-in space. The pizzas were fresh and full of flavor, though I felt they would have been even better if eaten immediately while piping hot. I still remember my first Buddy’s experience at another branch, the pizza was straight-out-of-the-oven hot, and that made a big difference.

I had previously ordered a version with dill leaves, which was absolutely worth it and something I missed this time. That said, the flavors were still bold and satisfying, every bite packed with seasoning and richness.

Buddy’s is definitely more expensive than regular pizza, but the portion size and quality make it worth it. It’s the kind of pizza that fills your mouth with flavor and keeps all your senses engaged.

Parking is shared with nearby stores, and the location is convenient right off busy Ford Road, next to Lucas and a new halal spot.

Overall, a solid Buddy’s experience with great flavor and reliable pickup, just missing that fresh-from-the-oven heat that takes it to the next level.

Old Review :

We’re ardent fans of Buddy’s and have visited multiple locations across Michigan, so you can imagine our excitement when one opened up in Canton! When the Plymouth location was unexpectedly closed one day, we opted for the Canton location. Though this location is pickup and delivery only (via Uber Eats or DoorDash).

We’re huge fans of dining in at Buddy’s, as the whole experience adds so much to the taste and vibe. Honestly, takeout never quite hits the same, which is why we kept postponing our order for a while. Finally gave in when our cousins flew in from North Carolina and what better way to welcome them than with Detroit-style square pizzas? They absolutely loved the crunchy crust and bold, flavorful toppings. It was a total hit with everyone!

Our order was ready in just 20 minutes. We went all out with Chicken Tenders, Cheese Bread, and a mix of their signature Detroit-style pizzas—Motown Museum, Greektown, and Mediterranean. The kids loved it too! The crust was crispy, the flavors spot-on, and every bite reminded us why Buddy’s is a staple.

That said, pick-up just doesn’t do full justice to the Buddy’s experience. We’d say it was about 60% of the usual joy we get from dining in fresh, especially with that hot-out-of-the-oven magic missing. Still, for a quick Buddy’s fix, this Canton spot delivers on flavor.

This location is in the same spot where Genova Pizza used to be, with shared parking alongside nearby stores. Super convenient for a quick pickup. While we still feel Buddy’s is best enjoyed dine-in, this Canton spot is a solid option when the craving hits!

Buddy’s Pizza is never a bad choice. They have great Detroit style pizza and a relatively simple menu to choose from! This location is pick-up or delivery only, so there is no dining area and only a few ledges by the windows to sit and wait for your order. The veggie Pizza is a good choice, however it was really soggy by the time we got it home and the crust wouldn’t hold the weight of the slice. This just means it’s much better enjoyed quickly out of the oven! They use Wisconsin brick cheese for most options, and it tastes great. The tomato basil sauce is an excellent choice, which adds a lot of flavor when compared to the standard Buddy’s margherita sauce. Update: the Mediterranean is an interesting choice to try, because it has red beets on it!

This was a disappointing experience. Canton doesn’t seem to have a handle on how to make a Detroit Pizza. The management is incompetent, it is not a problem with the delivery. The pizza was an underbaked. Being a lifelong resident of metro Detroit, your Canton location is a disaster. As a lifelong customer I will not return to any of their locations due to the managers lack of customer support. Thanks to door dash I got half a refund.

Excellent food and employees at this location. Love the salads and wings as well, although Buddys has the best Detroit style pizza around.

I came in this morning and I wasn’t greeted so I decided to greet them walking into the business Multiple instances of people not using gloves also. This isn’t the Buddy’s I’m used to. Expanding is hard and keeping the brand strong and consistent if you don’t hire friendly people or professional people. I know it’s challenging hiring good people but if was an owner I would rather work the front counter myself than having a negative person there representing my business. Won’t be back.

I ordered a pizza online I called ahead to ask for a substitution. I arrived the pizza looked well prepared. However it was not what I ordered. I called back within 4 minutes, they offered to remake the pizza. They stated it would take 25 minutes. After 30 minutes of waiting. I spoke with the manager he says they had alot of orders to fill and offered a refund as a quick fix. I waited a hour for the remake. The remake was made out of spight, the pepperoni was burnt and wet from the vegetables, and the curst was dark and hard. The young lady at the front counter was kind and professional -5 star.

Love this carry out place. They are awesome. Someone else took our order not knowing it wasn’t theirs, so the manager came out and had them make our order fresh. Thank you the antipasto salad and bread are my favorite, the buddys pizza is always on point and delicious. You guys are awesome, thank you again.

Timed carry out order disappointing. I ordered a 4 square pizza and a salad to be timed for 5:45 pm pick up. I got a text message that my pizza was “ahead of schedule” and would be ready at 5:27 pm. The whole reason I timed the pizza for 5:45 pm was because I was picking it up on my way home from work. I didn’t have the luxury of being able to pick it up earlier. I called to ask them if my pizza was really going to be ready almost 20 minutes early and I was told not to worry that it would be hot. Well, it wasn’t. It was warm because it was kept in a heated unit until my arrival. Sitting in this heated contraption for 20 minutes is not oven fresh. I had to heat it up when I got home, not the end of the world. But had it been made to order for the 5:45 pick up time it would have been oven fresh when I arrived at 5:47 pm. I understand that restaurants don’t want to get behind schedule, but making the pizza 20 minutes early is not acceptable. I worked at Domino’s pizza for several years and when a timed order was placed it was put into computer system and would pop up in the orders to make queue at the appropriate time. I am hesitant to order from this Buddy’s location again.
