Casual dining & bowling on the beach of Jordan Lake in Lake Odessa. Fun family atmosphere. Great food, 20 beers on tap, full bar. Daily Specials on Facebook. Prime Rib on Saturdays. Pizza, burgers, reubens, subs, fish fry, munchies, Mexican, wings, steak, pasta, homemade desserts. OPEN BOWLING: Tues 6-10pm; Thur-Fri 6-10pm, Sat Noon-10pm; Sun Noon-4pm. (Other hours for large groups, please call.) $5 Shoe rental. $30 per lane per hour, seating is 5 people per lane including non-bowlers. BOWLING/PIZZA PARTY 5 person minimum: $20/person for 2-hour party, includes bowling, shoe rental, one 16 2-item pizza & one pitcher of pop per 5 guests. Seating is max 5 guests per lane. Stopped in for lunch at Buddy’s on the Beach and overall the experience was just okay. The place has a nice casual lakeside vibe, but the food didn’t really stand out.
Most of what we ordered tasted pretty bland. The onion rings especially tasted like standard frozen ones, which was a bit disappointing for a restaurant setting. They weren’t bad, just very average.
Another small thing that stood out was that the drinks were served in cheap reusable plastic cups that looked like the kind you’d get at a dollar store. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it did make things feel a little lower quality than expected.
Service was fine and the location is pleasant enough, but overall the food and presentation were pretty middle-of-the-road. Not terrible, just not memorable. If you’re nearby it might be worth a stop, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

We had a great time at buddies and not only just the restaurant but we both have to work it was kind of fun after a few years. The view from the front all over the lake is beautiful and just all-around great service we had a waitress name Laney and she was great. We ha pizza on our second visit and the crust is great pizza is nice too.

Our riding group hits this place at least once a year but this was our first time here. It is open with plenty of seating and lots of windows, so nice lighting. We were here about 2pm and there weren’t many people. It was quiet and pleasant. Our server was very friendly and checked on us frequently. I had the Meat Lovers Pizza, he had the Reuben with house made chips. The pizza was very good. The crust I believe was hand tossed, not too thick not super thin and was perfectly cooked. The sauce was not overpowering and it was generously topped with very flavorful meats. The Reuben had a generous amount of thick beef slices that were well flavored and very tender. The sauerkraut was not overpowering and it was served with more house-made chips than he could eat. They were thin and crunchy, not the thick hard kind. They were quite tasty. We will definitely be returning

Nice place for lunch. Nice view of Jordan Lake. My wife had a reuban sandwich and I had a taco salad. She liked her sandwich. She opted for asparagus instead of chips and said the asparagus was good. I chose the taco salad with a huge amount of ground meat. Not a traditional taco salad, no guacamole or refried beans, but it was satisfactory.

Pretty happening place just about every time i’ve been there. It can be a little loud sometimes but it is connected with the bowling alley as well and the high ceilings. The food is amazing. The service is excellent. It’s a great place to visit for out of towners and locals alike.

Everyone else seemed content with their meals. I got the “waygu” ordered medium rare. Not only was it overcooked it had zero flavor like it was boiled. No seasoning no taste. My baked potato was hours old the middle was good but the outer half inch was rock hard. The broccoli was also disappointing. Second time there for food and also the last. Two staff members joking around and acting like children the entire hour we were there, but they were adults. Look up at the ceiling and you won’t want to think about what the kitchen looks like. Pass on this place.

I visit here anytime I’m crossing the middle of the state. Beautiful Gem in a small town. The service was great now three times in a row. The food…oh my. Come hungry because it’s a big portion or get ready for a togo box. Very consistent food coming out of the kitchen. I could order the same meal one year apart, and it would taste the same.
Enjoy the tiki bar on the roof, the beach for swimming in the summer. Beach volleyball next to the lake or head inside for sports on the TVS or bowling in the back. They have it all! I love this place.

We love Buddy’s on the Beach! The food and drinks are amazing. Plus you can’t beat that view of the water while you are eating. It’s great they have covered patio seating so you can enjoy the weather in the shade while you watch all the boats, swimmers, kayakers, etc. play in the water. Today we got a sub with waffle fries and it was amazing. The sun was huge and the fries had this amazing seasoning on them. We got takeout today so we didn’t get drinks, but they have AMAZING drinks. Plus bowling alley? What more could you want. Highly highly recommend!!

While out on a rainy Sunday afternoon of antiquing, we decided to stop at Buddy’s on the Beach for some dinner and drinks. This was about 4 in the afternoon. We were seated promptly, beverages brought promptly, and dinner followed.
After we finished our meal, the server brought us our check (unprovoked). I think this was the end of her shift. We paid and continued our conversation between the 4 of us. Several times I asked our group, “Do you think since we’ve been sitting here so long the staff would ask if we needed anything?” I know they’ve looked at us many times.
NOPE! NOTTA! NOTHING!
Finally, after 3 hours of great conversation amongst us I had said I was going to inquire.
So, I went to ask to see if I could speak to the manager. ” We don’t have a manager. It’s game night, we thought you were here for the game (we were sitting nowhere near a TV).” – nice girl rolling silverware
I asked for the names of management, she gave them up, I went back to our table. Now at no point in time did she ask if she could get us water, soda, or another cocktail.
Another 30 minutes go by, at this time the 2 servers are discussing what just happened pointing towards our table. They disappeared. Never even deciding to check on us. I went to the restroom to fill my glass with water, thats how parched I was.
I returned again to our table to express we were leaving. We then left. No acknowledgement from any of the staff. Nothing!
I have never have felt so disappointed with a place as much as I have now. Shame on your staff Buddy’s on the Beach. Shame on you.
Your staff is the reason the 4 of us will not return, nor will we recommend your establishment. Even though the food was excellent, your staff let you down.
Being in a service industry myself, I would not tolerate such poor performance from my staff, I would repremand them for their poor performance and use it as a training experience of how to always take care of your clients.
Thank you to your kitchen staff for putting out great food, the bar for the tasty cocktails, and shame on the servers for abandoning the clients.
Hope you treat other patrons better. We wish you well. But, you lost the 4 of us.
