A great place to have barbeque in Bristol, TN!
The story about the beginning of this restaurant chain dates back to 1966 when Buddy and his wife started their first restaurant. They grew their efforts until, today, they have 19 locations across East Tennessee. We were hungry for Tennessee barbeque and found this near our hotel. It is located one the northwest corner of the I-81 and state street intersection up the hill from State Street in a small shopping center. You order at the counter and can wait for your food or, in our case, they can bring it to your table. There is a drink station right after the counter. The seating is a mix of booths and tables. The menu is a variety of pork, chicken, brisket, smoky dawg, smoky wings, ham or turkey. I tried a pork sandwich combo that comes with a drink. There were two sauces on the table (sweet and spicy) and both were good. The staff was friendly. The prices were very reasonable and the tables were kept clean. Overall, it was good food in a good place at a good price with friendly people. I plan to visit this or other locations again and suggest you do the same.

This is my second review. Unfortunately it is completely opposite of the first one. My sister, my niece and myself all ordered the rib dinner and up charged for the Mac and Cheese , also we ordered half of chicken which came to $69.00. The person taking the order was nice and friendly, no complaints there. When the rib dinners came out the order that I got was charged to a crisp there was no possibility way I could eat it, there wasn’t any meat left on the bone it was charred! I of course brought back to the person who took our order she instead of immediately trying to make the order right asked if I wanted a refund. I said no, right then I knew she didn’t see the problem.I was not going to take a chance on another order so I asked for the brisket instead, they were both the same price. They made me wait a few minutes more just to serve me a brisket that was equivalent to shoe leather. It was extremely dry and tasteless.No amount of sauce could make it better there were a few pieces that weren’t dry, however they were surrounded by fat. The manager was in the kitchen and knew my concern about the ribs but only made my experience there terrible by serving old dried out brisket to me. I stomached what I could only because I was extremely hungry from moving all morning. This will be the very last time this restaurant gets anymore of our money!

Food is always great! I love how the store is kept so clean. The employees are always friendly. I never have to worry about my mobility service dog here. There is plenty of space and everyone is super nice. The music doesn’t overpower conversation.

The dining area was very very clean and well stocked. Their hot BBQ sauce tasted spoiled as if they top off the bottles without ever cleaning them. The sweet tea was delicious. The fries were cold, not warm. My ribs were tough and dry. The hushpuppies were warm but not hot, still very tasty though. They’re fast and cheap. I wish they were fresh.

The Food was DELICIOUS! I got the rib plate w/ a side of baked beans and potato salad. Hush puppies automatically come with the meal. However, I didn’t like the potato salad (too much mayo) but everything else I enjoyed. The establishment is clean, the service was great. Within minutes of me ordering, my food was fresh, hot, and READY. This was the best meal I had on my trip and I’m grateful for that, I will be back.

Literally sitting in the restaurant as I type this. Staff was kind; however took way too long to recieve food when we were the only ones in the restaurant. Finally received our food and the chicken tenders were literally still frozen on the inside, as well as my half chicken being extremely dry with no meat all all on it. Not the complaining type by any means, but seriously, come on served frozen chicken ?

Not good! Meat was dry and bland and bbq sauce too much vinegar in it! Slaw was terrible. Ribs were dry not tender and very red. We questioned if they were fully cooked!!! The only good thing was hush puppies. First and Last trip. The lady checking us out was super nice so this star is for her.
