An incredible breakfast and a true walk back in time. Great nostalgia and awesome staff. So glad to see this place is open and successful, a great place to take the kids, antiques as well as a wonderful breakfast.
Kids had a blast, super kid, friendly. And the food was amazing. Our server Elaina was amazing as a new general manager, checked on the several times to make sure everything was exactly as we expected. And yes, it was perfect.

We had such a fun visit to this eclectic place. It’s decorated with a lot of fun and interesting memorabilia from the last century.
The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was interesting and tasty.
The basement and second floor was full of antiques- I found a 100 year old Corona type writer on sale for $60 and saw it on eBay for $1000. Will look great in our den.
The best part was that our dog was able to join us and had her own menu. She was thrilled and we had a great time.

The term hidden gem doesn’t seem to do justice to the truly magnificent establishment. Buddylou’s offers to those weary explorers willing to traverse westward into marylands Appalachian ridge. From top to bottom Buddylou’s offers cycles for rent along the Potomac, a basement ice cream parlor, first floor dining and drinks and attic antiques.
We started with cycling the cost is by the hour and they have 2 and 4 seat rentals. The trail is beautiful and well populated with other cyclist, and a few walkers(not the kind that bite).
We had wings as a started and they far surpassed expectations, easilly rivaling major wing chains. For my main course I ordered ribs my personal favorite food, and these did not disappoint falling just short of fall off the bone perfection. Light pressure was enough to pull a part these beauties. A solid 9.5/10. The mac and cheese is sinfully delicious served in a cast iron pan to give that slight crunch along the sides, I find myself salivating simply recanting the tantalizing texture of these saucey noods. The few bites I stole from my girls burger were as delightful as the rest of the meal. For dessert I had a white Russian milkshake. I don’t think I was truly mentally prepared for alcoholic dessert because I found myself enjoying my girls Sunday much more, but to each there own. The decore of the establishment is rustic. Vibing with the for sale antiques on the top floor, scattered through out are pieces of nostalgia from at least the last century. I highly recommend this to everyone. Especially guys in search of a romantic outting for their partner.

We’ve been here twice recently for brunch and were pleasantly surprised both times!! The Bloody Mary is a perfect execution of a classic Bloody Mary, the meatball appetizer is so hearty and cheesy I could eat just that and leave satisfied. Service was delightful both times, shout out to Lori who was quite kind and lovely. Today I got the breakfast skillet, but the Benedict and sausage gravy have both been on point in the past. From food, to service, to venue you can’t go wrong if you’re patient and there for the vibes. Bonus points for the cool playlist.

Buddylou’s is everything I could ever want in a restaurant! The food was SO good, especially the crab fries! I highly recommend them. The atmosphere is so quaint and cozy with every wall decorated from top to bottom with antiques. It is also the most dog friendly restaurant I’ve ever been to and I absolutely love that! Also, I love how they have their own little ice cream shop downstairs. The homemade butterscotch pudding they have there is out of this world! My fiance and I said we will be craving this on the daily now. I also want to give a shout-out to our server, Jordan, who was just as sweet as could be and super attentive. We can’t wait to go back on our next road trip through the area!

We were excited to stop here after taking a look at the menu online, and we were also looking forward to the antiques. Unfortunately, we were disappointed on both fronts. When we arrived, one of the waitress’s asked us if we wanted to eat upstairs or downstairs. The wait time downstairs was lower, and we were on a long drive from DC back to Ohio, so we picked downstairs. What the girl failed to tell us is that they serve two different menus based on where you sit, so all the food we were excited about? Couldn’t order any of it. We were told it was a ten minute wait, no one took our name or anything, we were told to look around the tiny antique/ice cream store hybrid while we waited. I found a pair of salt shakers that were cute, but after purchasing, we discovered that they were extremely dirty inside, as if they had never been cleaned. Not a good look.
When we popped back out to check on the wait, we were told to just go sit down at a table that didn’t have enough chairs– my dad had to stand until the waitress interrupted another table to ask to borrow a chair for us to use. Apparently we should’ve just waited outside and snatched a table as soon as it opened, cafeteria-style.
We ordered our drinks, the soda came in glass bottles and the other drinks were in to-go cups with no lids. We ordered the pretzel bites as an appetizer, my mother got the margherita pizza, my brother got the prime rib sandwich, I got the dog-gone burger, and my father got the “steam roller” hot dog with duck fries. The pretzels were burnt, and the cheese sauce that they came with was tasteless and watery (see picture). It took about forty minutes for us to get them, so I guess they needed that extra time to burn them. We waited OVER AN HOUR for the rest of the food, at what was supposed to be a quick stop. The pizza was awful, with toppings sliding off, thin, orange sauce, and terrible crust (see picture). The duck fries, which were more expensive than the normal fries, tasted exactly the same as the normal fries that came with our sandwiches. The only difference was some massive flakes of parmesan that apparently make them worth $10. The hot dog was fine, and the burger was decent but a little concerningly pink on the inside for being “medium”. The prime rib sandwich was chewy, but fine.
The “kitchen” is essentially a trailer with what seemed to be only one cook inside. Despite having only one or two other tables the entire time we were there, we barely saw our waitress– at one point she disappeared and a different girl brought us our food and the check. $80 check for horrendous service and below average food. We left $100 and got the hell out, screw the change– we didn’t want to be stuck there any longer! Left so fast that I forgot to grab my dirty salt shakers.
TL;DR, don’t go here unless you want to waste your time and overpay for the slowest food truck known to man.

First time eating here and it was such a nice experience. They were empty so service was fast. Everyone was friendly who interacted with us.
The food came out pretty quick and was obviously fresh. The fries and potatoes were delicious and I loved the chicken sand which. My boyfriend had a side salad before his crab cake dinner and it was super fresh and he absolutely loved the ranch lol
The antique area is small, but has so many interesting things still! Was fun to walk around. There is also so many fun dog themed treats and items for your dog I got a scoop of cake batter ice cream/custard and it was so tasty and creamy.
I definitely recommend visiting!
Sadly couldn’t bring the pup because we were running errands and stopped on our way home.

Our waitress Shari was amazing!!!! Very attentive and polite!! There was another gentleman that was helping her but I unfortunately did not get his name, but he was just as wonderful! The crab topped french fries were delicious!! The pickle brine chicken sandwich was delicious! We brought our dog and he was treated just as well! Highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are traveling with a dog. Will be back later this year!

Dog lovers unite! This was a quanit little place to have lunch. Food was well prepared and the adult milkshakes are top notch! It’s VERY much a dog person haven, if that’s your thing. Only critique is that the lobster Mac and cheese is NOT on the menu, beware pictures that say otherwise.
