If you find yourself in Caddo Mills and you aren’t at Bucky’s, you’re basically doing Texas wrong. This place is the gold standard for “I can’t breathe because I ate too much and I’m okay with it.”
First of all, let’s talk about the Monday Meatloaf Special. Listen, most people dread Mondays, but at Bucky’s, Monday is a national holiday. Their meatloaf isn’t just “good”—it’s a life event. It’s thick, savory, and tastes like the chef gave it a pep talk before sending it out. If Meatloaf was a religion, I’d be sitting in the front pew every single Monday morning.
The Country Style sides are the real stars here. The Fried Okra and Fried Squash are fried to that perfect, golden-crunchy level of “I’ll just have one more” until suddenly the whole basket is gone. They manage to make squash—a literal vegetable—taste like a decadent treat. It’s basically magic.
The Vast Menu ensures there is something for everyone, and when they say Serving Sizes, they aren’t kidding. The portions are so “family-friendly” that I’m pretty sure the plates are visible from space. You could feed a small army, or at least a very hungry high school football team, with a single order.
And the Service? Absolutely legendary. I’m convinced the servers are telepathic. I took one sip of my drink, looked at a bird out the window, and when I looked back, my glass was magically full again. They keep the drinks flowing like a waterfall—you’ll never see the bottom of your glass.

Everything you would expect from a roadside diner. Service was capable, but could have been friendlier. I never learned my server’s name and she was quite abrupt with me. The food, on the other hand, was delicious. The biscuit was soft and fluffy, pancake was huge, and the sausage and bacon were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is quirky with a lot of metal signs. The building is a ranch style design. Three distinct rooms, one was closed. I was in on a Tuesday morning.

Greasy burger (I mean that as a compliment), good bun, fries were yummy, had a side of ranch to top the burger and it was ridiculous. We had pies, all three were delicious. It’s a little country joint, what it should look like. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good prices. We will definitely come back. My son ate his burger and made it look like a smiley face….which honestly isn’t we looked like when we left. Full and happy.

I cannot believe the way we were just treated. We come in this place ALLLLLLL the time with our entire family and always spend 75+ dollars here. I will NEVER be back to give them our hard earned money. My mother asked for warm syrup because the syrup was extremely cold and one guy named Gavin just stated he wasn’t going to do it for us. Then we asked our server who always looks like shes pissed off at the world, got us our warm syrup. Then the old lady who either owns it or has been there for several years sat in the main area by the kitchen and bar talking crap about our whole family, loud with tables all around them and loud enough for us to hear. We are ALSO a family who are $20+ tippers and that didnt happen this time. I left them the $4 that was handed back to me from change and put it on the table and Gavin goes on to say that “they didnt need our” tip nor did we need to leave one. So now they lost customers that come in all the time due to their hateful, disrespectful customer service, the waitress always looking unhappy and short with us, and also for them sitting there blatantly talking crap about our family. We will NEVER step foot back in there and will NEVER support that café again. From one small business owner to another, I WOULD NEVER treat any of my customers the way we got treated today and would NEVER speak about them the way they did. Also, if our employees were talking that way and being that way, they would be fired. Unfortunately, you cant fire a crappy owner and that’s how she treats her customers.

Oh my gosh this place is amazing! CLEAN! That is always a big deal for me. Employees are courteous and attentive. Prices are beyond fair. It is almost like you’re getting a bonus just for coming in we had the Bucky’s Big Breakfast Deal and split it and added a couple of more eggs. Coffee for each of us. Under 20.00. We had more than enough and had food left over we could not eat it all. Great food, great prices, excellent hospitality and atmosphere.

Great place to eat! The portions are big, the prices are very reasonable, the service is good, and the food is yummy.
We ordered the wings off the starter menu and they are huge, like chicken breast size.
The large chicken fried steak is way too big for me to eat in one sitting so now I get to enjoy it again for lunch.
If you live around Caddo Mills and haven’t tried this place you are missing out.

I’ve seen people posting about this café on my community page and wanted to give it a try, and guess what? It didn’t disappoint, everything that we ordered was delicious, the buckys burger is big and the flavor is out of this world, very juicy and loved the fact that the seasoning wasn’t salty like some other places, it was “on point” same goes for the crunchy fries. The chicken steak I can’t even describe its deliciousness, and biscuits are fresh and fluffy, and the gravy is soooo good. And the waitress is so kind and joyful, we are coming back no doubt.
