Food was great, service was great and the folks that work there treated us like family. Absolutely the nicest people we met while in Iowa. I think they went out of their way to be so kind and welcoming to us. Outstanding experience. We were in Iowa for 2 days and ate there twice.

Great restaurant with incredible food and service! I had the Boom Boom Chicken sandwich with tots. I’m picky about my chicken and this sandwich was amazing! The service was stellar as well! If you find yourself in Red Oak, I highly recommend checking them out!

The environment was great, the service even better.
The food… it was okay. I don’t blame the chef, as I feel they did the best they could with the ingredients provided. Sadly, frozen burger patties aren’t the best. The fried cauliflower was a nice addition to the meal.
Overall, give this place a shot and enjoy the environment. Just don’t expect the best quality food.

We walked in for a quick drink since we had some extra time while in town. We got in line behind the one person at the cash register. At about the same time, another family came walking in with some heading to a table, and some still at the door. The woman working the cash register snapped at them to order at the bar before sitting down. One elderly person with them had a walker. It seemed quite rude. Next, we step up to the register and ask if beer us sold. She rudely told us the beer was in the cooler at the other end of the bar. We asked about those options and she barked back at us that she didn’t know. We would have to get out of line to go look. We left without ordering and will not be back.

Friendly staff and an interesting menu. Good portions for the price. The customers do have to get thier own drinks and refills though but this isn’t a bad thing just an observation. There is a good selection of seating options here with a bar, some booths, and high tables in the back. The restrooms were clean unisex. I will definitely visit again and bring the family along as well.

Possibly the the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich in Iowa. I have had the ” best” at several of the top restaurants in Iowa and this is as good or better.
Huge size, twice as big as the bun. Nice crispy coating, well seasoned and tender moist inside. Super.
Good French fries. Very good corn fritters and my wife had breaded cauliflower and it was good.
They have a very good bbq sauce also. We didn’t tryvthe bbq but the restaurant had a great smokehouse smell.

On a roadtrip passing through Red Oak, we came in and placed a to go order to take back to our cabin. The girl at the front must be new because she didn’t seem to be very familiar with the menu and didn’t even know what soft drinks they had. We left without drinks because she said she didn’t think they had Sprite but only had Coca Cola. I ordered the chicken strips with tater tots and my husband ordered a double burger with mustard and ketchup only, along with waffle fries. When we got to our cabin, the burger didn’t have anything on it other than meat. Luckily, I had ordered extra boom boom sauce for my chicken strips, so he put the sauce on the burger. Overall, the food was good, so I gave four stars based on that.

We came here for dinner at around 7pm on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t busy. You place your order at the counter and seat yourself. They’ll bring your food out to you when it’s ready. Our food came out quickly and was good! We would eat here again.

Wanted a burger and fries, and on ordering found out, they were out of fries and onion rings. Got a burger instead, 10 min later, they came back and said they were out of buns and someone was going to the store for them. I’m glad they told us. I’m just curious how you run out of fries, onion rings, and buns. It’s possible, I suppose, but for a diner?? Anyway, they bun was fresh, but the burger was a bit tough. I guess, don’t come here at sunday lunchtime??

This is the best place for a breaded tenderloin. I’d say top three I’ve had in Iowa and I’ve had a lot of them all over. Gotta stop just for this.
