Our meal at Buckshot’s Skillet Cookery was okay. The atmosphere is nice enough with a very rustic environment. They also have a wide variety of skillet cooked meals and a variety of sandwiches to offer. The outdoor seating is comfortable. The staff were not enthusiastic with no smiles or thanks for coming, otherwise it was fine.

I had the Harvest Skillet and my husband had the ham and beans with pumpkin cornbread. I enjoyed the harvest skillet but my husband loved the ham and beans! He thought it was some of the best he’s had. They are fairly small servings for what you pay for, but for us was just right. The gentleman who checked us out gave us a tip to keep our water bottle as there are bottle filling stations throughout the park. That was a game changer for us and we really appreciated that tip!

Absolutely horrible. Do not take your family to this establishment’s window thinking you’ll get anything edible. Service was nothing worth mentioning, but we expected that slightly as it was busy.
All in all, we had to throw out a $20 (TWENTY) DOLLAR bowl of the harvest skillet, and turn around to buy a brisket grilled cheese from the other restaurant.
You see their photos and expect homemade meals, not mush. This wasnt even near the bottom of the skillet, as we saw the cast member scoop it out. I’m disgusted, especially as it was my first visit and DEFINITELY my last. They have been around a while and my boyfriend raved about their food from the past experiences, but this was nothing of that similarity.

For park food, I thought it was good, but my Family Feud succotash skillet did not look anything like the picture on the menu. Overall I enjoyed my meal however. My mom had the turkey leg and it looked and tasted very good! The line was very long (true everywhere in SDC today) and moved very slowly, wander if they might have been short-staffed.

My family and I tried the sausage skillet bowls on the “Tasting Pass” at Silver Dollar City at Buckshot’s Skillet Cookery during the Old Time Family Christmas Celebration this year. Even though it was a smaller portion, it was STILL enough for two! The regular portion could probably feed three! It had sliced smoked sausage, potatoes, bell peppers, onions, and spices cooked on the grill. It was a little greasy, but sausage always is! Very delicious. It is outdoors seating only, so it is wheelchair accessible by pulling up to a picnic table.

The Harvest Skillet is one of the tastiest dishes at the park. Having the wax beans along with the green beans reminds me of Grandma. We seldom got those pale yellow beans and were so glad she grew them. The ham in it was fantastic. Thank you Shirley for creating these skillet meals!

Like the other reviews the photos of the food were deceiving. The jambalaya, if you can call it that, was disappointing and the rice was undercooked. The cashiers were extremely helpful and nice. However, I would not recommend this place for food.

Visited 5/18/2024 from 10am-6pm.

The food was good, but there is a BUT….. compared to just a few years ago, the prices have increased a lot, and I know inflation, however the portion size of the bowl has decreased significantly.

I don’t mind paying a premium price but I should get a premium meal. Maybe do two sizes? Because one bowl doesn’t cut it.

And put out some freaking sweet and low for those who don’t want to drink pop and reather have unsweet tea.

Harvest Skillet doesn’t match the menu picture, turned out to be expired meal. The green beans lost their green color, it means food was reheated several days in a row, not hours! When I saw that , I did not refuse that meal, but instead being nice got that. That night I could not sleep because I got food poisoning from it! Listen your common sense, please! Be aware!

Walked across the park for the menu and the pictures in the app. It was a high price for piddly portions of lackluster food. The pictures were deceiving. The jambalaya was bland tomatoie rice with barely any meat. The succotash was mostly corn and did not have the squash from the picture. The wrap was mostly rice and it was dry. The tiny paper plates were awkward. The park is full of better matches between the price point and the quality of the experience.
