Walked up on this place four minutes before they opened. They requested that we wait outside for a while. Perhaps to finish pre-shift. Fine.

The ambience is so so pretty! I had chicken, my son had the fish & chips and my dad the small steak. All very very good!

Great service. Everything was great except the lasagna but the staff did everything they could to make up for it! Got appetizers, salad, burgers and chocolate cake and it was all delicious! Would definitely go back!

Had dinner on a Thursday. Great cocktails and delicious food. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Bonus points for being able to hold a conversation at a 5 person table without having to shout.

Literally one of THE WORST dining experiences I have had…. And I eat out a lot. I’ll provide more detail below for those who are interested.

Came here after a friend recommended it and will definitely be coming back! Our waiter was so incredibly kind and the food was exactly what we were hoping for! Drinks were yummy too, 100% recommend. The vibes inside are also so cozy and cute.

Lovely neighborhood joint with a Brooklyn vibe. Laid back, excellent food and interesting art. I had the steak, and the tomato salad, both were great. My companions had the burger, carrot dip and meatballs. The meatballs were too rubbery (over-ground) but everything else was great. The carrot cake was one of the best I have had as well.

Consistent, Cozy, Expensive. For a long standing neighborhood restaurant, this one leans towards the expensive side. It is a small space. So reservations are recommended. Try the bar area if there is only two in your party. Service across most restaurants has been impacted by COVID. Bucks is no exception. We had one waiter serving more than her share of tables. While the waiter was helpful and gracious, waiting too many tables impacted her ability to be attentive and engaging. The food is consistently good but pricey. Unlike other restaurants, Bucks has not modified it’s menu selections due to the pandemic.

Food was great! Service not so great. No notification of service charge prior to meal as mandated by DC consumer protection laws.

Glad to see that I am not the only one with a very bad experience…A nice and warm evening of November, I decide to eat out on a terrace. The restaurant looks adorable, beautiful deco. I look at the menu and decide I can definitely find something nice to eat in this decor. When I got informed that ALL the tables outside are reserved. There is NOBODY outside, it is not even 6 pm. I ask if they can accommodate me since I am alone and will finish my meal before the reservations arrive. They check their tablet, and confirm: it is impossible to sit people outside because people have reserved for in one hour ! I cannot believe. I decide to take my time to go around and find another restaurant and I walk for 20 minutes, looking at menus and atmospheres. When I pass again in front, the terrace is still EMPTY ! They are waiting for people to come in one hour. imagine if you are the real owner of the restaurant…. I will be so angry ! End of the story: I ended up in a lovely, absolutely delicious restaurant across the street, spent a bunch of $ on treating myself, including appetizer, entree, dish, wine, cocktail and dessert, and giving a very generous 30% tips (well deserved) Your loss. Hopefully the restaurant owner will read this review: time to change your team buddy !
