At a steakhouse, where quality and service should be top priorities, this experience really stood out in the worst way. A proper apology and basic hospitality could have made all the difference, but instead I was left feeling ignored. For the prices charged here, I expected much better quality and customer care.

This place used to be so good! For decades we went there for special occasions or when we just wanted to dine well. We used to travel from Chicago, and it was worth the drive. I was ecstatic when we moved closer to the establishment. Over the past 4 yrs or so, after covid, it took taken a dive. The steaks etc, are not what they used to be, I was at one time actually served a cold overcooked steak. The cioppino was a disgrace, the service mediocre. We did give them a chance, but no, every time we went, there were issues with our meals. We stopped going.

We had to ask for a high chair for our baby. ordered the surf and turf tower medium well, initially it was cooked medium rare and then upon sending it back we received half the steak we sent away horribly overcooked.

I had the 12oz lobster and it was cooked perfectly. A bit too expensive but a world better than the food they used to serve in the buffet. I like having a good restaurant as the alternative and Buckingham’s fits the bill.

Great food! Definitely over priced, but we were happy and impressed, which is all I need. I didn’t know this place existed, so I’m happy to see such fine dining in Elgin. The server was very nice. The wine was great, the steak was perfection. I wouldn’t get the au gratin again, but the creamed spinach was amazing. We went at 7pm on a Friday night and beat the rush. Not overcrowded though.

Hubby and I had a great time at Buckingham’s Steakhouse. The food was phenomenal. He loves his Lobster Bisque and I love my Beef Bourguignon, potatoes and carrots.
