This was my first time at Buckeye Jake’s. It’s a nice cozy place. Prices were great. Our waitress was friendly and did a wonderful job. I would recommend the club sandwich!! We had fried pickles which were delicious. My husband got the bbq trio which was really good too.

Wonderful restaurant with a feel of eating in a nice restored Victorian home. Great food, huge menu. French onion soup on point. Smoked BBQ best around and tacos tasty too. Look forward to trying more items like the chicken and waffles.

We have been here several times before and always had a positive feeling. Not sure if there has been a change in ownership or management, but something has changed for the worse unfortunately. After getting a table we waited almost 15 mins to even get our coke and water. Then we ordered the fish and she ordered the chicken and rice. Nothing extreme. It was 40 mins to get our food. Her chicken and rice was cold, my fish was worse than something you get at any fast food restaurant. Thin, hard and cold. The waitress forgot several things and it took several mins for her to bring the starter suave, and my wife’s side of applesauce. The applesauce was brought out in the plastic container you buy at the grocery store. They just pulled the plastic cover off the top and sat it on the table. Pretty much a waste of $50 for two dinners and no alcohol drinks. We liked the place in the past, drove 45 mins to get there, but we will certainly not go back and will let others know it isn’t the same anymore and to avoid.

Awesome food every time we’ve been! I love the French onion soup, the homemade dressing, and the servers and atmosphere are awesome! They had live music this summer that was So nice to listen to while we had a cocktail and enjoyed dinner.

Update: 8.26.23 We came in for dinner around 8 pm. on a Saturday night , and sat outside. There was a band playing. Im not sure who it was, but they were pretty good. We chose 2 appetizers, shrimp cocktails, and fried pickles. Both were great. I ordered the open faced brisket again and loved it. There is so much flavor, probably my favorite dinner they offer. My husband had the ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly and a baked potato. I also enjoyed a margarita. Looking forward to our next visit.
Onion rings were really good. Would get them again. The brisket hot shot was delicious! There are mashed potatoes hidden under all the meat & gravy. My husband loved the chicken dinner. The chicken was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back.

Why haven’t you ate here yet? I cannot believe it took us so long to dine here. This place is AMAZING. We arrived at 8pm and were more than welcomed. We ordered ribs and brisket and it was PHENOMENAL. The beer was cold and the service was quick and personable. The space is so cute and quaint but plentiful. HUUUGE INSIDE. We ate well for the price and cannot wait to return! Go Go Go!!!!

Went for dinner in Eaton at our typical spot but they were very crowed with people standing in line. We know sometimes we could be standing about an hour before anyone decides to leave so I got on google to find something close we could head to. That’s when I came upon Buckeye Jakes! Luckily we were sat down when we arrived. Dani our waitress suggested the spring rolls for an appetizer and they did not disappoint. We were tickled to see filets on the menu since that’s what we intended on at the other restaurant. Loved the variety of side options they offered. I got my filet medium with brussel sprouts and salad and he got his filet medium rare with mac & cheese and salad. They came out perfectly cooked! They were very flavorful and the sides were also very good. The brussel sprouts were in a vinaigrette possibly and had a wonderful taste. While eating our dinner we noticed some of the pictures on the wall and asked if they were the house years ago. Dani told us a bit about the home and said we should take a tour of the house and look at the other pictures of the home and family that once owned it. She did a wonderful job taking care of us and answering all of our questions. We did take a look around the home and it was neat to see the old family memories in the pics throughout. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back!
