Stopped here for a little lunch as we were passing through to Natural Bridge. Total 5 ⭐️ 10/10 experience. We got our food to go bc we had our dogs with us and it’s super hot out today but we took turns checking out the place while we waited. So much history in this adorable restaurant. Loads of seating available, booths, tables, and old style counter seating on those round stool that spin, the ones we all loved to sit on as kids. Loads of free parking close by. The food was amazing. Absolutely delicious! I got a the James River burger which is basically a burger with bacon and I had them hold the cheese. It was cooked perfectly and my husband got a Philly Steak burger, also delish!! Looks like they also have ice cream and milk shakes but honestly we were both totally full after our meal. It was plenty of food to fill us up, for sure. And the lady who helped us was so nice and friendly. She even offered to serve us if we wanted to sit outside at the tables which we would have done if it hadn’t been 88 degrees out. Too hot for dogs to sit in the sun. Oh, I almost forgot. It also has some cool stuff inside like an old time juke box and coke and Dr. pepper coolers. Will definitely eat here again next time we pass through. Check this place out. You won’t regret it.

The atmosphere is better than 5 stars! This place has the feel of an old time diner with a lot of fun stuff to look at while here. The food is equally as good. We had the homemade potato soup (AMAZING) and the hot club with a side of fries. Everything was hit and delicious. I consider this a great find and would definitely come again.

Stopped in during a road trip and couldn’t have been more impressed. This place is pure Americana—vintage charm, friendly service, and food that hits the spot without trying too hard. I had the Fountain Burger with onion straws, and it was hands-down better than anything I’ve had at chain joints. Old-school, juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor.
The interior is cozy and nostalgic with checkerboard tile floors and counter seating that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a simpler time. You can tell this place is a local favorite, and now it’s one of mine too. If you’re passing through Buchanan, do yourself a favor and eat here. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why road trips are still worth taking.

The food was great and the staff were super friendly. Service was a little slow but I think it was because there were only 2 ladies working. The slow service wasn’t a problem at all but my main issue was the state of the bathroom. I didn’t even want to take a picture to share. Just plan on pooping at the antique store a few doors down ☺️

Talk about stepping back in time! I love how everything looks so original. The staff are extremely friendly, the food was great, and it was very fast. I haven’t been to a place like this in years! If you’re out in this small town, stop and give this place a shot.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Fountain and Grill in Buchanan, Virginia. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the service was excellent. They even provided a game for the children a mega connect four! The game enhancing our overall enjoyment. I ordered the Cowboy Burger, which was delightful, while my daughter opted for bacon and french fries. My husband enjoyed a scrumptious Philly Cheesesteak, and the accompanying french fries were a highlight. We concluded our meal with delicious ice cream. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience in Buchanan.

The place is ok, our server was nice but it took 45 minutes before the food was serve, there were 2 tables who came after us but were served their orders faster than us, I was almost ready to walk out, luckily my husband stopped me, I think I got too hungry that the food tasted good.
