Always a great time when we visit Buca di Beppo. The food is always excellent quality and always fresh. Especially notice the difference and improvement over the last few months! A manager has always greeted our table and checks in with other guests with the same care and attention. We have had server David multiple times and he is always so polite and friendly. Quick and attentive to our needs and has always gotten our orders correct without errors.
Love coming to this location and seeing such friendly faces to provide a positive experience!

I truly feel for the hardworking staff who were doing their best under extremely chaotic conditions on Christmas Day. That said, the overall experience was very disappointing.

We pre-ordered Christmas Day dinner with a scheduled pickup time of 3:30 PM, but I didn’t leave with our order until 4:50 PM. The wait was excessive, and unfortunately the food quality did not make up for it. The lemon chicken was missing its gravy, and the Italian broccoli romano had no seasoning at all—it was essentially plain steamed broccoli and was already browning. Our salad was also not up to the quality we expected. The baked ziti was missing most of the sauce. We were missing our bread for our order too. Chicken parm was extremely thin patties.

I want to be clear that my frustration is not directed at the frontline employees, who were working hard in an overwhelming situation. Management, however, needs to take accountability for the breakdown in execution and process. Customers trusted this restaurant with an important holiday meal and spent good money expecting a well-organized pickup and quality food.

I sincerely hope management recognizes and thanks the employees who stayed and pushed through the chaos, and also takes steps to make this right for the customers who were impacted. We spent over 500 dollars for a meal worth at least 50. We would like a refund for this unfortunate dinner.

We loved our dinner as always. We had the prosciutto stuffed chicken and the new salmon dish and they both tasted delicious. Finished off our meal with yummy cannolis. Can’t wait to return.

Great please for people that love pasta. We didn’t in particular like the lasagna as it was very dry but the fettuccine were very good. The salad was fresh and crispy. The lemon chicken is definitely my favorite. I felt a weird energy inside and wasn’t completely comfortable. It felt like we are all squeezed in a little area in front of the bar with columns in the middle of the walk aisle which also didn’t make the job easy for the servers. Not a lot of free parking when we went but it is part of a mall parking so you could find a spot at a decent walking distance

We were among the many people who came here on Christmas. It was a last minute decision as our father is currently in the hospital, so we wanted to give my mom a break and take her out. We did make reservations the day before. We arrived around 5:10 for our 5:30 reservations. The lobby was packed, and they were checking in people as soon as they could. They were honest and said that they were running 20-30 minutes behind schedule. They also said food coming out of the kitchen could take almost an hour. However, knowing our options were limited, we decided to go with the flow.

The staff was working hard, without a doubt! They were seating people as quickly as possible, even checking with one party to see if they could fit at a specific table (and they could because 2 of their group were small kids). We were seated around 6 p.m., so 30 minutes late. I will also say, that everyone around me in the lobby was in a pretty good mood, doing their best to help people and just being kind to each other.

Once we were seated, our waiter Tim came by about 5-10 minutes later. We, like several others, browsed the menu while waiting so we could be ready to order when we did get seated. Tim was on top of it! He took our order right away, then brought some warm, fresh bread about 5 minutes later. Our salad came about 10 minutes later, and then our food took maybe another 20-25 minutes. Everything was hot and tasty! So not quite the hour that they said for “any” food, but nicely timed out anyway, in my opinion.

Yes, it didn’t help that someone pulled a fire alarm while we were in the lobby, as that stopped everything for a few minutes. It also didn’t help that the people with pick up orders were standing right outside the kitchen door watching everything. They were going as fast as they could.

We had planned to eat and get out as quickly as possible, so as to not hog the table. However, by the time we were done eating, it was about 7:20-7:30 and the crowd had definitely dissipated, so Tim said we were totally fine. It’s also nice the way it’s divided into so many rooms, so the noise isn’t as much, you can actually have conversations.

We really want to commend the staff for doing the best that they could. And our waiter Tim was really the perfect person for us, considering our situation. As I said, we never go out for dinner on Christmas, but we were trying to make sure my mom could relax and not cook, knowing my dad was in good hands.

I’m sure there’s going to be a flood of reviews for Christmas dinner last night. If you were there, I may have held the door for you. I watched people walk in with a party of 4 and no reservations and then leave in disgust after being told it would be 2 hours. I saw a person arrive at 510pm to pick up food that was ordered for a 6pm pickup and then, after complaining that their food wasn’t ready , stayed in the already crowded lobby. Someone pulled the fire alarm. That didn’t help things. Neither did the goof parked in the fire lane. It was quickly resolved by the Lombard fire dept, with minimal disruption. Who thinks bringing Christmas gifts into a crowded restaurant is a good idea? It’s not. I understand some people met there, but exchange the gifts to open later. I do want to thank everyone for leaving their pets at home. On the other hand, many more people left satisfied with the great food, the service, and the time spent with family. We had out of town family guests and the wait time and table service time was perfect for us to talk and catch up. Our group left last night with plans to meet up again soon. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great dinner.
