Bubbys is one of my all time favorite places to go in Huntsville. Affordable food, always super friendly staff, and the food is some of the best in the county. Their homemade pimento cheese is to die for. The portions are enormous and whatever you choose, you’ll be happy you got it. Nothing there has ever disappointed me.

This was a great last-minute decision to eat. My family loves dinners and dives to eat at. We grew up on them. I would have given the place five stars on food, but the oil was old. This is easy to pick out with the dark onion rings and even on the catfish.

Ordered meat and three sides. Had grilled catfish with hash brown casserole, Mac and cheese, and fried okra. Decided on hush puppies instead of a roll or cornbread. Food was delicious… and hot. Service was first rate and price was reasonable.

This was my first visit. I ordered hamburger steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. Food was very good. Onion rings were spectacular! Hamburger steak was a tad bit overcooked for my preferences.

Came here for Lunch, restaurant was nearly empty with only one other table having guests. Service was fast and friendly, our order took only two minutes or so to make, which makes me question the freshness, it certainly could not have been made to order. I had the Tesla Philly with cowboy beans and Mac n cheese. Sandwich was good but not great, Mac n cheese was store bought Velveeta, but the beans were good with bits of onions and bacon in them. My daughter had the Rodeo Burger, mashed potatoes, and potato salad. Her burger was good but again not great, mashed potatoes were good, especially the gravy, and the potato salad tasted like the tub you buy from Walmart. My overall review is the place is good but nothing special to make it stand out amongst all the competition in Huntsville.

Had the meat and three and it was very good. Friendly and prompt service. Physical location is rather small, but there was space up at the counter. The only thing that I would improve on is when you serve the turnip greens, PLEASE drain some of the juice/water off before serving. I know it’s mouse nuts stuff but I hate fightin with the liquid to get to the greens! Other than that it was top shelf all the way. Thank you.

Wherever I can get a meat & 3 sides, I’m in, but at Bubby’s stick to the sandwiches. Reuben, excellent. Philly cheesesteak, excellent. Bacon cheeseburger, too greasy, sad bun, and cheap cheese. Meatloaf, was still pink inside (undercooked?). Green beans were from a can and not even seasoned. Fried okra was so so. Hashbrown casserole was half cheese, half mashed potatoes, with some hash brown shreds in it, and no other seasonings. A box of Kraft would be better than the Mac & Cheese.

This place has a nice mom and pop feel. The dishes were good portions and reasonably priced. Everything we ordered was delicious. However, the potato salad could use some improvement. It wasn’t bad, it was okay. We will be coming back in the future.

So I waited about 2 weeks to write this review. I struggled with it because the food is good and the ladies out front are super friendly. I used to order pickup a couple times a week. I would say 85% of the time my order was wrong when I got home. It got to be so bad I just stopped going. If you order side items you may get a half order. It really just depends on what mood the kitchen staff is on that day. But if you are picking up, I would definitely take the time to check your order. Chances are it’s wrong! I got home one day and discovered instead it my order I had 3 servings of turnip greens. Now I like turnip greens. But that was a little to much. That was the day I decided to find another diner. Luckily one was not to far from where I live. So just a little different path to get a correct order.

Bubby’s is a fun 50’s diner. The food was good, especially for the prices! My husband got the Jelly Burger, which was yummy but on the greasy side. I got a meat and 3: country fried steak, hash brown casserole, fried green tomatoes, cornbread, and blueberry cobbler. The gravy could have been a little bit thicker on the country fried steak, but it was a great comfort food meal! The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was quiet which allowed for conversation.
