Burgers…… Not so much. Took a huge bite of what looked like an amazing burger and something was off. Took another and my mouth was filled with some great textures and flavors, yet something was still……. Not great. Tasted the burger patty by itself and there it was. Their patties seem pre made, straight from the freezer, saving some money kind of flavor. None, the patty was flavourless. The rest of it was really good. My Son had noticed the same flavor sensation with his burger.
Everything but the burgers were top notch though.

The Food (The Real Focus)
Las Vegas Burger
This burger surprised me from the first bite. The balance of ingredients is extremely well thought out:
• Beef patty:
Thick, juicy, and cooked to a perfect medium. What stood out is that it’s intentionally light on salt—something I actually appreciated because it lets the natural flavor of the meat come through, and you can season to taste with just a pinch.
• Egg:
Cooked at an ideal point: fully set on the whites but with a tender, moist yolk that blends smoothly into the meat and condiments without making the burger messy. It adds richness without overpowering.
• Avocado:
Fresh slices, not mushy, and placed in the right amount so you get creaminess in each bite without the burger falling apart.
• Bun:
The bun deserves special mention. Soft, airy, and slightly sweet—not gummy or dense. It actually adds flavor and texture to the experience rather than just holding the ingredients together. It compresses just enough to handle the juiciness of the burger without disintegrating.
Overall, the composition of this burger feels deliberate: every element is in proportion, and nothing competes for attention. It has that “classic but elevated” taste that only long-practiced execution can achieve.

The Fries
The fries are processed—not hand-cut—but they’re given a smart twist: double or deep-fried. This technique gives them a noticeably crisp outer layer while keeping the inside light. They don’t carry any special seasoning or standout flavor, but the texture is the highlight. A very solid side, though the burger is the true star.

Price
Around $50 for 3 specialty burgers, 3 drinks, and 3 fries. For the quality of the burgers, this is absolutely fair in Houston.

✔️ Final Verdict
If you want a genuinely well-crafted burger—juicy, balanced, flavorful, and prepared with care—Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack is an excellent choice. The setting is simple, but the food shows decades of experience. I would definitely return for the burger alone.
Our toddler loved everything, especially the burgers and onion rings.
Plenty of condiments. All fountain drinks are refill as much as you want.
Lady at the counter was awesome, she had a Sisco order delivered and apologized for being late to take the order but it was less than 5 min wait.
Overall 15/10 would definitely return. We had leftovers and can’t wait to bring our other kiddos back!!
So glad we got to experience this place and absolutely love the location since it is between 2 freeways.
It was $44 for everything. Then we added a tip.
I order the patty melt and this was easy one of the best patty melt I have had. It was so cheesy and the meat was juicy. The onion rings are always great the way they should be made.
If your in the area this is a must stop place for lunch or dinner.
