Craving some seafood and didn’t want a big fuss. A quick search on Google presented Bubba’s Shrimp shack as an option.
Glad we choose to go here. Convenient parking, no line to order and so many choices for seafood. My wife got two different tacos and only shared when she was full. When I tasted them, I found out why. Yummy. She also hit the Shrimp and corn soup which was phenomenal. I had the Low Country Shrimp Burger. Funny name but fantastic flavor.
Do yourself a favor and give it a try…oh yeah the prices are very reasonable. Hard to do in these times.

This restaurant has all your Seafood desires. From fry to steam to a abundance of sides you will be pleased when visiting Bubba’s Shrimp Shack, the service is exceptional all employees treat you with a welcoming experience when you come in. As for the order as you can see they have a self kiosk you can order from in the front of the restaurant, you can call and place an order for pickup you can even order with the front hostess. If you have a big party they have a party room to suit your needs, the food always comes out nice and hot I encouraged to try the Bubba sauce. If you are in the Fredericksburg area I believe this restaurant will suit you and your family if you’re in that Seafood mood.

I’ve been here three times and the food has been excellent every time. Everything is fried here for the most part but they use a very light breading. They also have some interesting fish options, not just your regular flounder and catfish. The portion size is generous and everything tastes very fresh.
Just a heads up that the mac and cheese has a visible amount of black pepper, which didn’t go over well with my son, but I thought it was good. The sides are all homemade in advance, so there was no way to get an order without black pepper.
If you see in the pictures, the hush puppies had corn in them. Maybe I’m easy to impress but to me this screamed, “homemade and attention to detail.”

Food was absolutely incredible! I was so focused on enjoying every bite that I only managed to snap a photo of the menu…and the banana pudding to go
We tried the Virginia Blue Catfish Bites and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich — both were outstanding. The banana pudding was the only thing I remembered to photograph, and it was worth it!
Bring your appetite and your family — you will not be disappointed Place was bumping with happy customers! Owner was awesome in making sure we had everything we needed and the food was to our satisfaction. ❤️

Food was amazing and definitely worth coming back for! We came in tonight as the last customers before closing, and the owner (looked like he was wearing red) was super friendly and welcoming—really made us feel appreciated.
Only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the rude attitude we got from the cashier, which left a bad impression. Thankfully, the owner’s kindness made up for it. Great seafood spot overall!

I went to this place based on reviews. They had good reviews 4.8 stars. My fish and shrimp was just like I asked extra crispy. The place and restroom was very clean. I talked to Anthony as he was sweeping and he was great as well. I also had a wonderful conversation with a nice man and woman about how good God is. So everything is great at this place The food and customer service was awesome .

This was a pleasant surprise! Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. First and foremost, best fresh sweet tea I’ve had in a long time. There were 4 of us and from fish and chips to shrimp and oysters, everything was delicious. Hush puppies on point and fried okra was cooked perfectly. Food was a plenty and everyone was very satisfied. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to coming back and in the spring and enjoying the outside seating. On a busy day seating might be somewhat limited, but the owner said we were welcome move tables however we needed. He said he wanted us to feel at home, which was a refreshing sentiment. We will definitely be back.

We love eating here. Everyone is supper friendly, they have nice high chairs and don’t mind my son when he gets excited and loud. The food is always cooked to order: fresh and perfect. We have never had a shrimp be under or over cooked; steamed or fried they are awesome. The fish is also a winner, along with the hush puppies. The portions are perfect and price is great.

Our visit to Bubba Shack was nothing short of phenomenal. The very first bite was so good it demanded a second — and possibly a nap. My children enjoyed their meals so much that they finished every bite and then crawled back to their rooms because they were too full to walk. One even suggested I bring out a wheelbarrow, but unfortunately, the inside of the house isn’t zoned for that kind of equipment.
The chef is truly talented, clearly touched by the culinary gods. His food reflects skill, passion, and a level of flavor mastery rarely found. The waitstaff was just as impressive — friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu.
Now, the flounder deserves a special shoutout. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and absolutely unforgettable. After eating it, I found myself lying around the house like a flounder — completely satisfied and unable to move.

My wife and I decided to go to BSS for lunch and I am so happy that we did. Upon our arrival, Ernie (the owner) made us feel welcomed and appreciated. He took the time to explain everything to us with absolutely zero pressure for us to order. The food was delicious and the prices made me feel like we had stepped back in time. You cannot go to any fast food restaurant and eat a decent meal for what we paid for catfish, whiting, shrimp, hush puppies, sweet potato fries, and fountain drinks included. The list of food is not inclusive, there’s more. I am completely blown away by Earnie’s attitude, approach to business, spotless restaurant and the way he interacts with people, it’s so much like a family environment. Go see for yourself and please share this gem of a place with everyone you can!!
