Bubbakoo’s Burritos offers a modern environment and a menu that promises a creative twist on Mexican-American fusion. During my recent visit, I decided to try the Pineapple Express burrito, expecting a vibrant contrast between the sweetness of the fruit and the savory elements of the filling. While the image appeared fresh and tasty, the ingredients provided in my burrito fell short of what was pictured. The pineapple was dull in color but the portion size was certainly generous, the actual flavor profile was surprisingly understated. The expected “kick” from the combination of flavors never quite materialized, resulting in an experience that felt rather routine. The standard tacos my husband ordered also fell into the same category.
The meal was prepared quickly and the staff was perfectly professional, but the food itself lacked the “wow factor” one might hope for when ordering a signature item.

Excellent spot. The food is made right in front of you, and it tastes great — fresh, flavorful, and just the right portions. Everything feels clean and well-run.
The vibe is pure surf and skate — chill, upbeat, and fun. They play solid music like Red Hot Chili Peppers and other 90s rock favorites. Two big screens loop extreme sports clips and beautiful nature scenes, which really adds to the atmosphere.
What I really appreciate is the small detail: they have little cups for water, so you can grab a drink without being forced to buy bottled water that costs more than soda. It’s a simple thing, but it shows they actually think about customers.
Highly recommend this place — great food, great vibe, and smart, customer-friendly touches.

I’m not going to say it’s always perfect but I’ll tell you why Bubbakoo’s on York Rd gets 5 stars. The location that listens the the feedback and respond immediately, so this became my go to. It’s comfort food thought up by college kids, either partying or recovering from partying, that is the best choice when you can’t choose. There is truly something on the menu for just about anyone.

Bubbakoo’s should label their tacos as “essence of barbacoa” or “lacroix tacos” since they give the smallest serving of barbacoa that I’ve ever seen. The guac was in a bag and grey, plus the lettuce looked like it had been on the bar for days — so I did not even add the toppings that I wanted. I should have left without paying for the tacos.
The flavor of the tacos was good, but I was completely disappointed by the portion size — even chipotle would be embarrassed.
Edit: For days have been thinking about how bad the service, food, and now the generic reply from Bubbakoos was. Revised my rating to a more deserved 1 star.

First and foremost, let me begin by saying I will definitely try this spot again. I feel as though the second time could be much better.
1st time here, and immediately, I liked the vibe. Cool California vibe. Chill and laid back, but maybe a bit too laid back when it comes to the food prep. The associate putting our food together seemed to be all over the place. Forgetting to add ingredients and forgetting different parts of our order,running back and forth just seemed a bit much. The food was ok, but it didn’t wow me as much as the names of each dish on the menu did. For instance, General
Tso tacos could have been soooo much better had they all had equal amounts of chicken and rice. One taco has enough rice for all 3, while the other didn’t have hardly any rice or chicken. We ordered the Loaded Nashville fries (which BTW, have so much potential to be good), BUT they were so drenched in hot sauce that the fries were mushy and gross. I was really looking forward to some good food. Just didn’t happen this go around. Again, I will give them a second chance and let ya know

This restaurant is asking for a food poisoning outbreak. Staff gloves up to touch raw meat and then uses same gloves to prepare your food. Despite there being spoons and tongs grabs cold ingredients with raw meat gloves.
Can not speak to the taste. I was not risking getting ecoli. Threw out food for safety. Waste of $30.

Had a great experience today. Kai and Karen helped us out and gave us great service and good recommendations. We went with the General Tso Tacos which was excellent! Hubby got thw Philly Burrito which had a good flavor, though it had a little more rice than he would have liked. But the Flavor combinations you don’t normally find elsewhere. Pricey but worth it for the fresh ingredients and different flavors. Will definitely be coming back

Terrible experience my first time ordering here. I ordered 2 breakfast burritos online for pickup in the morning. When I got there I was asks what order I was here for and then when they found out I had ordered two breakfast burritos, they told me that it is not on the menu yet and I would have to wait two more days to be able to order it. Why would it even let me order the item if they cannot serve it. Also they said the refund will take effect in about 2 days. There also is not a manager present in the store either. Only one employee working. Terrible management as well

This was a terrible first experience. I ordered two breakfast burritos online for morning pickup, but when I arrived, I was told the item wasn’t actually on the menu yet and wouldn’t be available for another two days. I don’t understand why the system would allow customers to place an order for something that can’t be prepared.
To make matters worse, I was told the refund would take about two days to process. There was no manager available to address the issue, and only one employee working at the time. Overall, it felt like very poor management and a frustrating introduction to the business.
