I didn’t expect it to be so authentic Thai food but surprisingly it was quite nice. If you feel like Thai food in Cairo, this is the place that you won’t be disappointed. They grow their own herbs and vegetables. That’s how they can make nice authentic Thai food in Cairo. The owners are very nice. Chefs are Thai. Service staff are friendly and attentive.

We had Thai food twice during our trip to Egypt for 2 weeks. This place is close to real Thai food the most. Owned and manage by Thai owner for 34 years. Consider the available Thai restaurants in Cairo and our experience of all Thai restaurants in Cairo on our previous trip 15 years ago, they should get 5 stars. They now start to grow few typical vegetables and herbs by themself and this will make a better taste for their dishes. Highly recommend for any Thai tour group that missing Thai dishes after several days trip to Egypt.

This place in terms of a Thai restaurant is quite mid. The food is good but doesn’t really taste like authentic Thai, spices are off and the items may come out different than the pictures in terms of what’s included. The service is lacking terribly. I was sitting pretty fast but they took almost 15-20min to take my order despite there being only a small group and I ton of empty tables. They also include ridiculous surcharges even for one person.

I am very disappointed with Google Maps because I can rate this restaurant only 5 stars. Furthermore, I will be much more appreciated if I can grant this restaurant 10 stars. All of menus are fantastically delicious .

Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you’re looking for an unforgettable Thai dining experience, look no further! This place blew me away. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor — fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced spices, and absolutely delicious from start to finish.

The staff? Adorable and genuinely warm. They made the whole experience even more delightful with their friendliness and attention to detail.

And the ambiance? So chic! The decor is elegant yet cozy — the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed dinner with friends or a special night out.

Highly, highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back

Today, I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and ordered two chicken noodle dishes, one tom yum soup, and another dish.

In the first chicken noodle dish, we found a hair. We informed the staff, who apologized and replaced the dish. However, about half an hour later, as I was almost finishing the second chicken noodles dish, I found another hair in my plate. I stopped eating and informed the waiter, asking them to take the plate back, and I clearly stated that I did not want any replacement or anything else.

What happened next was extremely disappointing. Without us requesting the bill, it was suddenly brought to our table, as if it was a request to leave the restaurant. When my friend asked whether this was standard practice or if we were being asked to leave, the response we received was highly unprofessional. The restaurant manager claimed this had never happened before, questioned where the hair could have come from “as if it fell from the sky,” and implied that we were responsible for the situation. For clarity, all of us were wearing hijabs, and there was no possibility of hair coming from us.

We work in the food and beverage sector, and we fully understand that mistakes can happen. However, repeated hygiene issues – especially involving hair in food in two dishes in one order – strongly point to poor kitchen hygiene practices. What made the situation worse was not the mistake itself, but the arrogance and defensiveness with which it was handled. The manager’s reaction clearly suggested that such incidents may not be uncommon and that customers are expected to accept them without question.

The manager said that he removed one dish from the bill and acted that we should be thankful, but continued to argue that we had returned the second plate only after almost finishing it and then “suddenly” found a hair. This attitude escalated the situation unnecessarily. At no point did we receive a sincere apology, which was all we were actually waiting for.

While the rest of the staff were polite and professional, the manager was extremely rude and dismissive. I visited this restaurant based on positive recommendations, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to anyone. The restaurant lacks basic customer service skills and fails to handle complaints professionally or respectfully.

The name of the restaurant has recently been changed and it is now Sala not Bus Khao just to avoid any confusion. The experience is a must try. The food is unique and unlike any Thai food I’ve tried in Egypt. The fried minced shrimp were cooked to perfection. Think crab cake but better. Item 39 fried fish was delicious and I think the best course out of all although it’s a bit spicy. The steamed whole grouper was amazing but I don’t think it’s for everyone. If you like ginger and lots of spices in your soup, you’ll enjoy this one. As for the dessert, we tried the fried banana and I didn’t like the breading so much but the ice cream was delicious especially after a meal full of spices. Small portions. Interesting experience nonetheless. Respectful waiters. Highly recommended.

The place has lots of decorations from Thailand, the food is very delicious with lots of varieties that suit all tastes and the service is very fast. I will definitely visit the place again.
The only thing that I take on the restaurant is that restrooms don’t ve hot water.

The ambience was great and the food tasted good, but unfortunately someone in our group ended up with food poisoning afterward. We believe it was the sweet and sour macaroni that may have caused it. Would not return.
