Well, you can’t beat a $22 lunch date, and the portions are huge—bless their hearts for the value! But let’s just say there’s a reason I keep a travel-size mouthwash in my purse, and today, it was the Pimento Cheese. It had a spicy kick but missed that creamy Southern charm we know and love (even my husband left it on the plate, and that never happens!).
The BBQ was a little heavy on the smoke and light on the soul, and the baked apples were soft enough to be served in a high chair—a bit too ‘baby food’ texture for me. The slaw was the tasty redeeming star!
Service was a bit ‘loopy’ today—my husband had to drink his water and mine before we saw a refill, which is a no-no in our book. A solid spot for locals to grab a deal, but maybe not worth a 30-minute drive.

Pulled pork dinner was pretty good. The sauce was great, but the meat itself was a bit dry. Meal portions are a good size leaving the possibility of you not finishing your plate!

It doesn’t look like too much, but oh my was the food flavorful and good. My meal was only $10 and ended with left overs. The pot roast was great, much enjoyed the Mac and cheese and baked apples as well. Had a brownie sundae for dessert and the ice cream is legit a must try!

Man, their homemade ice cream and fried apple pie are amazing. I can eat them forever. The service is also super nice and fast and recommended me the best food that I should try. The main meals are all really good!

We had a great BBQ plate here! Service was quick and they were crowded. Dining area was a big open area for easy seating no matter the size of your group. Seating was in the front for Creamery treats! They offer samples to taste the flavors. The interior was nicely designed since it was recreated. Lots of pretty pine wood and clean restroom area.

Be aware that you have to pass by the homemade ice cream to get into the restaurant. The aroma tempts you to skip a meal and just have dessert.
It’s a good-sized menu with wonderful choices. Check out the salad bar. It small but it’s big on taste. More prepared options than just a typical house salad. My favorite is pulled pork barbecue. Portions are good size. Prices are reasonable. We’ve had small group of four and also used space for larger groups too.

This restaurant was updated/renovated last year and is even better! Staff is always friendly and accommodating, facility is clean and welcoming. There are several historic artifacts inside and a marker of the Daniel Boone Trail in the parking lot. Food and desserts are always delicious! Get there EARLY-it is a very popular destination!

This is a fantastic place to come to in North Wilkesboro if you have a taste for good BBQ and ice cream! The portions you get for the price is hard to find these days. Got the pulled pork with green beans & potato salad and everything came out great! Also the ice cream was just as good for again a very fair price!
I urge you to give this place a shot when you’re in town in general and especially during a weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway! A lot of great pictures with the storied history of the facility. This restaurant is a must go!

NEW OWNERS MADE IT 100% BETTER! The food was excellent! Service was fast and friendly. Prices are very fair. The newly remodeled inside was clean and bright. So much better now with the new owners and menu. I had the bacon smash burger, dad had the brisket plate. Both were fantastic. Will be back!
