Delicious food, lots of friendly locals and homemade pie! I ordered fried catfish and bluegill, with a baked potato, and mashed potatoes. Hearty portions on the fish and it was fried to perfection. I knew I’d keep half to eat the next day and for $15 these days that’s a deal for two meals. I was too hungry to take photos before, but did get two pieces of pie to go since I couldn’t decide between strawberry rhubarb and coconut creme. We’ll be back again soon.

Tried them for the first time today. Mushrooms were delicious. We got nachos supreme, fried ravioli and mild boneless wings. The wings were to sweet for my liking. I was looking for more of that vinegar kick! Overall good place to eat.

Our waitress was an absolute delight. Very friendly, the service was fantastic. A great small town restaurant with a hometown feel.
The hand breaded fried mushrooms are deliciously perfect and came with the house ranch for dipping. I will say they are the best fried mushrooms I have ever gotten from a restaurant. Pictured is a full order, I could not finish them all so brought some home for later. I decided on the 8oz hand pattied hamburger which came on a buttered and grilled bun. All of which was cooked to perfection. This place is a southern Illinois gem. I am a definite fan and look forward to trying their other menu items. I wish I would have had room for dessert because the pastries I saw looked amazing. They also had a large selection of pies listed.

Quickly prepared. Generous portions. Freshly made hash browns. Large, delicious, home-made biscuits. Excellent gravy. Could not believe that there were homemade turnovers, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls with fresh bacon bits! There were pies and cakes displayed in the pantry! I just stopped by for breakfast. This will have to be on my saved destinations list, even if its a bit off my path. The ladies there were SO sweet, too!

I drove here from New Carlisle, IN, to, among other things, try Brunzeez fried mushrooms. I was intrigued by their mushrooms because they resemble the best fried mushrooms I have ever had at a Carbondale restaurant no longer in business. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint!!! These are a little bigger, a little more moist and not quite as seasoned as the others but they hit the spot! If the others were a 10, these are a solid 9.2. I will be back!!!

One of best restaurants I’ve been to in quite a while. My server, Kristen, was very friendly and welcoming as I entered the restaurant. This place seemed newly remodeled with comfortable seating. I was suggested to try one of their their house specialty hamburgers, (Double Bacon Burger) and it may of been the best burger I’ve had in my life! I highly recommend trying this place out of you are in town!
