Monday is the day they serve Porterhouse Sonora Beef). I ordered a steak med rare to medium, it was served over cooked, the Fillet part of the porterhouse was well done, the New York Strip part was medium plus. Flavor was good. I had a baked potato and Caesar salad as sides which were very good and to drink 2 Cabernet’s. They comped one of the Cabernet’s. The check was $1230.00 pesos which did not include the tip. The server requested a cash tip ( because the Management deducts 6 to 8% if made by credit card) and not to include on the credit card. The restaurant has been renovated recently and looks good. The service was excellent by the server. This meal cost $70.00 USD, without a tip. No offer was made by Management to comp the steak even though the Manager knew it was over cooked as well as the Server. Note: I took the steak home for the dog. This is an expensive place to eat in Ajijic. When you compare Bruno’s to the Barrio de Quilmes Ajijic “Q”, the “Q” wins hands down. Food, Service, Atmosphere and Cost. My reservation was for 4:15pm, 1 Person.
Note: When a premium Steak, like a Porterhouse is overcooked, (particularly Well Done Tenderloin). Management should upon finding out should immediately offer to correct the order by replacing the Steak cooked to order.

Just got back from Bruno’s for our 35th wedding anniversary. What a treat…again. Filet for me, ribeye for my husband. Everything was amazing from the service to the food. Steaks cooked to perfection!

Thanks to Daniel who made the evening flawless. The atmosphere and subtle live music was great. The Porterhouse steaks cooked perfectly, the Caesar salad was fresh and crispy. Daniel served up a very good old Fashioned. The only real nitpick comments – the steak knives need sharpening. One of the best restaurant experiences we have had in Ajijic.

The total experience was excellent. The steaks cooked perfectly, the Caesar salad was fresh and crispy, and the hot fudge sunday topped off the meal. The only real nitpick comments – the steak knives need sharpening and the Caesar dressing needs a little more anchovie flavor. But absolutely one of the best restaurants in Ajijic.

Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. My birthday was on a Monday this year, which luckily is porterhouse night at Bruno’s. We didn’t need to look anywhere else, especially since it was close to home, and we could walk home after a few drinks.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by multiple staff members and seated at our clean, white tablecloth’d table.
The porterhouse was perfectly done and we really enjoyed our sides as well. After dinner (even though we were stuffed!) they brought out a delicious piece of creamy cheesecake with a huge candle and the whole staff sang happy birthday.
Beginning to end, a perfect birthday dinner.
10 out of 5 stars!
Thank you, Bruno’s!
(For those who really want to know, dinner for 2 incl the steak, 2 sides, an appetizer, 3 drinks and 2 glasses of wine came to less than $2500 mxn)

What a dining experience. Both os us had the filet and they were cooked to perfection. Both the baked potato and the corn were excellent as well. To top the evening, the apple pie was delicious. Daniel, our server, was spot on. Frequently checking on us, but not intruding. A difficult thing to balance. This is a must go to place when you are in Ajijic.

I’ve been to many steak houses both US and internationally but Bruno’s is hands down the BEST of them all! We’ve dined with them 3 times now and each server and meal was EXCELLENT! So of course we will return many more times as long as we live in the area!
Addition: we have been back a couple more times and still impressed especially by our regular server Daniel, he’s “top notch” and never disappoints. So if you haven’t been yet- what are you waiting for?!?! Check Bruno’s out, or miss out!!

Birthday party for my husband’s 70th with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. We had a lovely dinner. Everything was delicious, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. It was a fabulous evening.

Wow, honestly the BEST hamburger of my life, and I’m picky as an excellent cook myself. The pictures don’t do it justice because we got there quite late in the evening and the light was low but this burger was a monster! Incredible flavor with some kind of magical elixir sauce, the crispiest most flavorful wedge fries EVER (few restaurants in the lakeside area seem to know how to do fries right) and a perfectly balanced limonade mineral with the exact right amount of sweet and tart flavors. We missed the crowds and had very prompt service with very friendly wait staff. Such an incredible value on Thursday evenings the two for one burger (currently 195 pesos for two burgers with fries) and on top of it we were able to utilize their taxi service for just 50 pesos round trip to pick us up and take us back home since we did not bring a car to Mexico. Our driver spoke excellent English and was safe and pleasant and what a super smart way to get people into your restaurant and make sure they get back home especially if they need a designated driver (you need to make a reservation for their taxi service I believe). The staff shared all the different specials including prime rib with a huge portion of high quality meat and I will be sure to bring my son here when he visits.

A tender Baseball Steak, juicy Sirloin burger, or other favorites with the best baked potato in town brings us back to Bruno’s classy new look. Excellent Caesar salad, friendly and attentive service, delicious drinks & exceptional desserts. Daniell made my friend’s birthday a special occasion! Thank you. We’ll be back soon.
