Unfortunately, the food quality has been consistently disappointing. The cheesesteaks and pizza lack flavor and freshness, and the fries always seem to come out greasy and overcooked in dark oil. I’ve given this place a few chances over the years with both pickup and delivery, but the experience has been poor each time. Just being honest.

Horrible horrible service for people ordering online ! I ordered 2 med size pizza the delivery estimate was almost 2 hours. I tried to cancel and it was trying to charge $30. So I waited for the food. It literally took almost 3 hours to come.
They must prioritize walk in’s but I know ain’t that much of being busy in the world. So of course when the food got here it was ice cold and chicken peso pizza barely had chicken. And the wait was literally on the store not the driver when food was done 3 hrs later a driver easily accepted the order so they can’t blame it on drivers!
If you can’t handle walking phone and online orders you should not accept the online orders simple ! That was simply a mess !

My wife is a NY transplant and we have been on the search for a place that can deliver the consistency and taste of an authentic NY slice.  This is honestly the closest to a NY slice we could find.

The pizzas are made fresh to order and have the right cheese to sauce ratio on each slice.  We each started with a slice each and they came out fast and pipping hot, just the way it should be.  After the first bite we both looked at each other and gave the nod of approval.  Other pizza places in Philly and the suburbs often over cheese the pizza and when you go to bite it, the entire cheese falls off with the bite.  Not at Brunos!  The other thing to mention is that the pizza sauce is what a good pizza sauce should be; robust, sweet and have a hint of herbs/spices.  Overall the pizza has the perfect balance of cheese, sauce and the crust is crispy and chewy – the closest thing to pizza perfection.

We then tried their cheesesteak with american cheese with onions.  They use fresh rolls that are soft but remarkably absorb and hold all the meat and cheese together for a great tasting cheesesteak.  The difference with Bruno’s cheesesteak is that they season their cheesesteak meat and the flavor profile is more complex than getting a run of the mill cheesesteak from other pizzerias where it just tastes like dry meat and cheese.  The taste of the meat combined with the onions and cheese all mixed up in that soft roll makes this one of the best cheesesteaks I have ever had in Philadelphia and I’ve been to Steve’s Prince of Steaks, Genos, Pats, Jim’s on South St. and Dalessandro’s Steaks.  If you have tried all those other places, you need to get a cheesesteak from Bruno’s and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Lastly, we ended our meal with some chicken wings.  They are breaded and fried like how us Philadelphians have grown up eating from the local seafood and pizzerias.  The chicken wings were cooked perfectly and after the first bite into that crispy breaded chicken wing I was hooked.  I read some other reviews about the chicken being undercooked and based upon that guy’s review I would have to disagree.  It’s possible for properly cooked chicken to appear red, or even bleed, at the thigh bone. … This is because pigments in the bone marrow seep through the thin bones of these juvenile birds, tinting the meat with a heat-stable pigment.

Anyways, I recommend that you eat a slice there while you wait for your pie to get ready. If you’re in the area, this is the place to go to!

Pro Tip:  Reheat your pizza on the stove to bring back that fresh from the oven taste and texture.  Don’t microwave your leftover pizza, don’t be an amateur.

I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza yesterday. The total cost was $20 . Despite the price, the pizza was perfectly delicious. However when I was paying for my order over the phone, the female cashier taken my card info then hanged up the phone. She didn’t confirm that the transaction was approved, or tell me how long the order would take. Just straight disconnected the call. WTH!
I don’t think I’ll order again because of the price for a medium pizza. But it was very good!

The people at the counter are the worst. Always on their phone not paying attention to customers or their food. Ordered a cheesesteak saw one get bagged up and put away just to find out after 10 minutes of waiting that it was mine. Even friends in the area told me theyve stopped ordering from here. Whoever is the owner needs to look at who he hires because youre losing business to these careless workers.

For the life of me if I’m going to pay 32.00 dollars for a cheese steak platter you would think you would get more than this, and bigger!!!! This looks like a regular platter from a regular corner store.

The food was absolutely disgusting. The fries were burned and tasted like they were microwaved after being fried. The cheese steak was overcooked and dry and didn’t have any of the requested condiments. So disappointed

I have ordered from brunos a few times and food had always been good however this time will be the reason I will never go back again. I ordered from slice for 2 cheese steak hoagies with different items on them. I received 2 CHICKEN cheesesteak hoagies. I called brunos and was told by the person that answered I needed to call slice because it came to them as chicken cheesesteaks. I tried to call slice but only had an email to reach them at. This is unacceptable to me. More importantly brunos was very uninterested in my dissatisfaction of the wrong order. If they work with this app that obviously has issues and you dont even take the time to address me then it’s obvious to me that YOU do not need my business. BTW if you guys want to know there wasn’t even CHEESE in this steak. Oh I forgot as they said it’s SLICE issue. Thanks to Brunos and Slice for my unsatisfying dinner!

I have been coming to Bruno’s since the Italians owned it. For some Godforsaken reason my husband loves this place. I have experienced some of the most rudest & ignorant behavior from the cooks & cashiers recently. If you don’t want to work in these places, DON’T! I will NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!
