Pick anything from the menu, it’s going to be delicious. I’m usually one to stop eating when I’m satiated, but the food is so good here I leave stuffed because I wouldn’t dare reheat my tortellini!
So, I ordered the shrimp scampi and it had 5 medium shrimp. It did not have a great flavor as I tasted only a lemon and butter taste.
My wife ordered the lobster ravioli. She said her dish was good but not what is expected from a 40 dollar plate.
I was very surprised that neither meal came with complimentary bread.
Our bill was over 80 dollars, we had water to drink.
I had a very high expectation for the food and left disappointed.
These meals had no sides either.
I will not be back which is sad because I expected so much more.
We ordered two glasses of wine: a Chianti and a Chiarlo Barbera d’Asti. Since we wanted to try both the pasta and the pizza, we decided to share a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was amazing, with the perfect balance of dough and sauce. Their brick oven allows the pizza to be cooked authentically, as if we were in Italy, and adds an extra touch to the ambiance.
With the pizza being so good, we expected no less of the pasta. My husband ordered the fettuccine alla Bolognese, and the ragù was so flavorful that he scooped up every bit and cleaned his plate with the last piece of focaccia! I ordered the daily special–penne with a white sauce (not Alfredo!), sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmigiano–which was absolutely delightful. The flavors blended perfectly.
Although we were full, we saved room for dessert and ordered cannoli. The portion came with two, making it perfect for sharing. The way they whisk the ricotta gives it a delicate texture that tastes exceptional!
Service was fast, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The location is great, right in the heart of downtown Springfield, so we could easily walk back to our hotel. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience–a must-visit if you’re in Springfield and craving authentic Italian food!
The food was excellent and came out quickly. I would love to order the tortellini again. The bread with olive oil and vinegar was a nice little appetizer. The bread had the perfect texture and moisture. The lemon cake was a great finale to everything. I really enjoyed all the food.
I would have given 5 stars, except the restaurant was dirtier than to be expected for a place charging this much. I saw several fruit flies, which is always very concerning. Simply, the place could be cleaner and I would have really awarded 5 stars.
Overall I would love to come back and try something new. It was a good experience.
I believe it would be much fairer and more transparent if staff clearly stated when something comes with an extra fee. We still appreciated the food and the atmosphere, but this lack of clarity affected our experience. I hope the restaurant can improve communication so future customers don’t face the same confusion.
