Well just the short pixie cut gray hair heavy built old white lady with glasses who I suspect is apart of lower management
& the tall African American lady with tattoos on her neck.
So It was my FIRST time ordering at B.B. ever, I came to this location on 1/8/26 around 11:25ish AM.
I got the breakfast brisket sandwich and I explicitly asked the old lady to put a different cream cheese (c.c.) for an additional cost ON THE SIDE.
The sandwich came with BOTH c.c. on it.
I brought it to the dark lady’s attention & she offered to remake the sandwich. I asked where to return the 1st sandwich & she told me I can keep it.
The old white lady behind the register then demands that I return the sandwich to her so she can throw it out.
I didn’t want the sandwich anyways because of the mistake so I just threw it out myself.
The remade sandwich had the c.c. that I requested ON THE SIDE, IN THE SANDWICH.
I once again bring this to the staffs attention. Repeating for the 3rd- 4th time that I paid for AN ADDITIONAL c.c. ON THE SIDE.
The old white lady then tells me that I cannot have the sandwich remade w/o being charged for another sandwich, insinuating that I am trying to scam my way into an extra free sandwich.
I told her that this isn’t wait I paid for & will not be accepting the remade sandwich. She once again demands that I return the remade sandwich (which I didn’t want mind you).
The 2nd remade sandwich didn’t have the original c.c. that was supposed to automatically come on it BUT they finally gave me my other c.c. on the side.
I politely explained (again) that I paid for a side of c.c. & don’t want the sandwich remade but if they can just give me the included cream cheese in my sandwich in a cup.
The dark lady then says to the old white lady “She wants ___ cream cheese now”…
Like? That’s not even what I said…
Just rude and passive aggressive.
There was a sweet young white girl who was trying to get clarity on the situation which I explained to her what happened. So not all the staff is bad but whew…
EDITED since this place is now Bruegger’s Bagels:
Not sure if this is a worthy successor to Bagel Jay’s, but it was alright for what it is, I suppose. I thought the Farmhouse bagel sandwich was very generously sized and the prices were reasonable, though maybe the hash brown thing was a little expensive. Yummy at least.
The vibe was okay overall, but the experience was thrown off by a snarky cashier who didn’t seem too happy to be there. Not everyone was like that, the other worker are friendly. But it did affect the experience. I also found out they don’t lightly toast their bagels, which was a pretty disappointing since that’s how I usually like mine.
My favorite thing would be the convenience!
This is a good place for a quick breakfast or to grab something on the go. But overall, I’d give it a 3/5 for the decent food and the hit-or-miss service.
