The Bruce Wine Bar is a charming little bistro in Thornbury with short, but well executed menu that is simply excellent. Pairing that with gracious service and an awesome wine list makes for a great dining experience. Just be sure to reserve your table, especially on weekends. It’s a deservedly busy spot!

Bruce Wine Bar blew me away from start to finish. The cocktails were not only creative but absolutely delicious — perfectly balanced and a great way to start the evening. Dinner was cooked to perfection, beautifully plated, and every dish was bursting with flavour. You can really tell there’s thought and care behind each ingredient and pairing. We finished the night with dessert, and it was the cherry on top — indulgent, refined, and just the right amount of sweet. A must-visit for anyone who loves great food, great drinks, and a cozy, elevated atmosphere.

Stopped here for lunch. The service was excellent and so was the food. Good atmosphere. It was worth walking around the corner and stopping in. We had the bread and split a margherita pizza. Would highly recommend.

Had a delicious dinner at Bruce Wine Bar. Really tasty seasonal cocktail, the burrata special and the vegetarian green curry were excellent (seriously, get the curry if you like a balanced heat), and the wine pairings were delicious. My server, Phoebe was awesome and steered me toward some amazing food. My only (minor) complaint is that it’s pretty warm inside. But I love that you can watch the kitchen from the communal table downstairs. I hope to return before I head home.

Friday night dinner in Thornbury. We shared the Burrata, the Fungi Pizza and Scallops with Pork Belly. Everything was delicious. Staff were friendly. They had a good selection of wine with some reasonably priced choices too. Vibe was lively but comfortable enough to talk. We will be back.

Bruce Wine Bar was hands down one of the nicest restaurants I have ever been to. My wife and I came on a recommendation from a friend to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and enjoyed the cozy and fresh atmosphere with an intimate seating arrangement. We were excited about the expertly crafted meal options to accompany the robust wine collection. The waiter was amazing, friendly, and helpful with selecting a wine to pair with dinner. Also, so grateful they convinced us to try the dessert because it was delicious.

We came here for my girlfriend’s Birthday and had an amazing time! The atmosphere was great, and the server was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole visit. They have a very expansive drink menu, and all the beer and cocktails we tried were to die for.
The food menu is very accommodating for many different dietary restrictions, with options for vegetarians, gluten-free items, and even a nut free kitchen that it’s all made in. The food itself was amazing, and I would definitely recommend the pizza if you’re unsure on what to order. Very much recommend! 🙂

We had dinner recently at the Bruce Wine Bar, having been many times before in the past. As always, the food, service, and atmosphere was lovely. Josh (our server) was delightful; the drinks were great, and the food was delicious.
It was also nice and cool inside, despite the hot, humid weather outside! We had shared apps, and our own mains—everything from the steak and fish, to the pizza, the warm olives, and other shared dishes was fantastic.

Wow, what a wonderful place to eat…and drink. The wine list is really good, and Wednesday’s are half price wine. The Appetizers were delicious, my partner had the salad and I with the butternut squash soup. The mains were delightful, Risotto and The Noodle, taken from the most recent menu, changed for the fall period. Service was superb and the atmosphere a bit loud but friendly and quaint. Bruce Wine bar is my new favourite place for special occasions.
