this place was sooo cute! The fish tanks and the really cute butterfly art on the wall was the start to an amazing meal! The food was soooo good!!! I will definitely go back if I am ever in the Boston area!

Absolutely fantastic, traditional Thai food on Commonwealth Ave. This Thai food reminds me of my travels through Thailand, and that’s quite exceptional considering all the Americanised Thai fare on offer at Thai restos in the Boston. They’re doing a million things right at Brown Sugar Café to put out the delicious food they do! There’s no other way you can be at the top of the Thai food scene in Boston for the decades they have been at the top if it was any other way. The extremely helpful staff just rounded out the experience as it felt like the lovely, warm-hearted, soft-smiled ladies, much like a mother, guided us through an outstanding meal and experience. We will be back! ขอบคุณ!

Had a great time here. The menu had lots of selection which i really appreciated. It would have been nice if they were able to highlight the gluten free options on the menu, but I was able to ask the waiters about it. My Lady in Green dish was absolutely delicious, probably the best yellow curry I’ve tasted in a dish. The prices were fair as well. The spice level is authentic, so be prepared if you order something spicy. I also enjoyed my Thai iced tea. Friendly service.

A very cute Thai café-style restaurant with a cozy vibe. The Thai iced tea is absolutely amazing, probably one of the best around. Loved the Pad Thai too, and it’s great to see they offer good vegetarian options. Service was prompt and friendly, making the whole experience really pleasant. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Thai food in Boston!

This Thai café has a big menu with lots of options, and the prices are very affordable. The taste is okay, but not as good as some other Thai places I’ve been to. If you’re vegetarian, make sure to give clear instructions, as some dishes may still include fish sauce or meat-based ingredients. Good for a quick and budget-friendly meal.

Stopped here on our Boston trip and it was so good!! Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is very kind/attentive! It’s also aesthetically pleasing with a few butterfly decorations and cozy warm lighting.

– Crab Rangoons ($10.95): Delicious. Didn’t even need the sauce because of how creamy the filling was.
– Crispy Chicken Pad Thai ($18.95): I did not like this. The taste was very average. The sauce was not balanced (some parts too sweet; others too salty), and the crispy chicken was not crispy, so not worth the mark-up. They also threw in some non-crispy chicken pieces, which were very dry. The only good thing was the portion size.

Still remember my first visit 20 years ago—amazing food and a heartwarming atmosphere. Sharing a plate of country-style Pad Thai with my son was such an overwhelming and touching moment during our trip to Beantown.
And the noodles? They were incredibly tasty. I never imagined my 11-year-old son would finish the whole thing!
I’ll keep recommending this place for as long as it’s here.
