I didn’t want my meal to end it was so good. Had the Brown Sugar Mango Curry with chicken. It was spicy, sweet and so fresh tasting. If I were to have any complaint it would be the curry does not include any rice or noodle with it, but is a separate side order. This does not take away from the high quality and great taste of the meal I had. Would not hesitate to eat there again.

Food was flavorful and came out piping hot! Took a friend here and I got the drunken noodle while she got the pad thai. Nice atmosphere and we sat by the fish tank. Will definitely be back and make this our regular spot whenever we’re in Newburyport.

Really enjoyed eating lunch at Brown Sugar by the Sea. Great location, easy parking, delightful atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We had Pad Thai, Stir Fried Tofu with Mushrooms, and Thai Sweetened Tea. Compliments to the chefs–well done!

Our family tried Brown Sugar by the Sea for the first time Memorial Day Weekend for takeout. We were delighted by the quality and taste of the food. We had the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. We also got an appetizer of the Chicken Fresh Rolls and those were delicious as well. I would go back again just got an order of those. We will definitely visit again.

I’m not sure what happened. Out of the 4 things we ordered one was not good (the chicken in the tiny rolls were dry) and the other three selections were bland. The drunken noodle was basically noodles with oil. Very little vegetables were in it and it was bland. The place looks amazing and is calm and inviting. The views of the water are nice and the people are friendly. I would just stick with drinks.

We dine here frequently on Friday nights because we enjoy the music, the food, the atmosphere, the location, and great parking, This Friday we had a fairly early (6:30pm) reservation for a party of five, three who were visiting for the first time from CA. Several members of our party ordered dishes with shrimp and were told they were out, that it often sells out quickly and that regular patrons know to call ahead to reserve dishes that have it. We found this extremely odd. Is this a marketing strategy? Here’s a long time popular and established restaurant near the waterfront in a seaport town known for its seafood unable to order enough of a popular ingredient in its cuisine to serve their customers who arrived fairly early on a summer Friday night? I can certainly understand that things run out, however being told this isn’t unusual and that customers “in the know” get preferential treatment was a real turn off, and makes us reluctant to recommend this place to our out of town guests.

We tried this restaurant because I had a Nift gift card and was definitely not disappointed. Food was excellent tasting and staff were very friendly. I should have asked to have hotter water for my tea but it wasn’t too bad at the temperature it was at when we got it. They also had someone playing piano after 6:00 pm so that was nice. I’d definitely recommend it if you like Thai food and a pleasant atmosphere. We got some pricey dishes but I think it was worth the cost.

I love coming here, especially on my birthday! The atmosphere is really nice, people are great and the food quality and taste is consistent. I like the live music, too. I do wish you would stop charging extra for rice!!

This place is amazing! Came here with my parents and all of our meals were amazing. Such good stir fries with super fresh vegetables! Amazing choices for vegan/vegetarian dishes as well as meat dishes. Great atmosphere inside and there was a guy playing soft guitar that really added to the ambiance.

We had the appetizer platter and it was very average. They don’t allow any substitutions which was disappointing. The pad Thai was very soupy, which made it unappealing and a bit too saucy.
