A cozy and charming coffee spot with gluten-free options, including two types of muffins and a lemon bar. The coffee was delicious, but we were surprised that only one person was working on a Saturday morning, which made the wait a bit longer than expected. Still, the atmosphere was worth it, and the attached bookstore added a special touch. Definitely a great place to visit if you’re not in a rush.

I was their first customer on a cool Monday morning, and as I approached the coffee bar I noticed that the barista was getting dialed in. That’s when I knew I’d stumbled onto something special.
For those not in the know, “dialing in” is the process of adjusting the grind size of the coffee to achieve the perfect time for your shot of espresso. Too short and the espresso is stringent and underextracted; if it goes too long, it’s overwhelming and loses its brightness. Get it just right and a good barista can bring out the best in a coffee, making it truly sing as it hits all the best notes.
As soon as I realized what he was doing, I knew I had to order an espresso. I’m glad I did, because the flavor profile was excellent. “It’s nice to see a serious coffee shop in town,” I told them.
I wish I could’ve spent all day here. The book shop is cozy and full of all sorts of treasures. As a west coast boy, we don’t get to see many old buildings like this, so the feel and sight and smell of the place was just as intoxicating as the double shot of espresso I was sipping on.
This place is a MUST try if you’re in town, and is one of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to.

Great, quiet and unique place. Full of books for browsing and buying, an outdoor area to sit and think and take in a little slice of whatever you want to imagine. Really enjoyed the barista and conversation on the local history, and comings and goings of historic Annapolis. Truly a little gem.

AMAZING PLACE! I am mainly writing this for the Floridians that I met at another cafe and told about the Skeleton mermaid Brown Mustache has. I lied I found the photo and I is the attached on of the skeleton on a seahorse. Now to actually review the place… this shop is one in a million! It has a book store comfy eclectic feel to it and an amazing outdoor area (pictures attached)! I highly recommend coming here on a crisp fall day as that is my favorite time to visit and watch the leaves change in DTA! They have amazing coffee and an overwhelmingly comfy atmosphere at all times of year! Each time I come to downtown I try to visit!

I absolutely LOVE this place. I came here for the first time today and was blown away by the shop itself, but also the service and quality of the food / drinks. They have lots of gluten free options! I came early in the morning so there was basically no one there (perfect for getting work done) The environment was very relaxed and cozy and there are SO MANY books! Definitely worth the 5 stars!
