Should have closed the door & walked over to the next restaurant. Upon opening the door it smelled like an ashtray. Service was good. Food was very mediocre of course coming from a microwave. Ugh. Our 1st & last time visiting this establishment that promotes cigarette smoking

Great service! Typical bar food with a few menu items for those of us who prefer something else. The restaurant is clean and bigger than it looks in the pictures or from the road. Hubby says the food was great, especially the cole slaw, but he loves bar food! I thought the food was ok but I’m a bit fussier. So we compromised with 4 stars.

Great townie bar. 100% you might be the only non local there, but people are friendly and the barkeep slings your drinks and cooks your food. Try the wimpy sandwich if you like sweet and spicy sloppy Joe.

The food was ok. Quite a few of the pictures on here are not of The Brown Jug. It is definitely a small town tavern that looks straight out of 1980. I didn’t realize that smoking was allowed inside but patrons were lighting up and ashtrays on the table. The bartender was friendly but the menu is very limited and written on a chalkboard above the bar.
